PlayStation Beat: With Battlefield 4 approaching, I decide to quickly reflect on the realization that Battlefield 3 was a semi-disappointment. When did the game become a running simulator?
For me (online part. Lets ignore that atrocious other part) the map design on consoles was not done very well. The player count didn't suit how the maps were made. It felt like a massive step back from a game like Battlefield: Bad Company 2. That game had some superb maps
I warn people to expect server crashes for the first couple weeks, as I would with any AAA game using dedicated servers. Happens with every BF game at launch.
Also having 64 players keeps the running down a bit.
I think the main issue at least for me was PLAYER COUNT. 24 on consoles was just not enough for these maps.
I have never played BF on a PC but I can tell that the maps in BF3 (the larger maps) where made for much more then a measily 24 players.
I questioned the edition of jets on the console as it takes away from the 24 players. it ends up being like 6 v 6 etc. on a HUGE map...so I understand exactly what the author is saying.
I wont be getting BF4 on current gen. I will get it on the new systems....based purely on the 66 player count (2 in commander mode from what I have read)
I myself dont even feel like playing BF3 anymore. BFBC2 was very good...EXCEPT for the matchmaking. The lobby from match to match just would never fill back up at all.
yeah.. this article was pretty stupid.. after 2 years, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS still play this game every year... BF4 will be great and pull alot of CoD players over to it..
For the love of GOD GET RID OF THE F*CKING ADMINS!That's all i ask.Plus you're taking a back seat to KZ:SF.Since i'm getting that day one.
