It's because a lot of fans of the old Splinter Cell do not like the idea that the main voice actor for the protagonist, Sam, is voice acted by someone entirely new. And from what I've heard as well, a lot of fans aren't impressed that they basically took the action genre end, and basically removed a great deal of stealth. Check it out on Youtube, and you'll see several rants about it.
