Ability to demo more important than price in selling games

According to new research from The NPD Group after surveying 12,000 gamers, the ability to demo or "test drive" a video game is a bigger factor in persuading to buy a game than actual price is. A non-discounted price will still curb your chances of getting games as gifts, however, says the report.

I have made many decisions for and against a game because of the demo on the marketplace. If the game demo is good the price doesn't affect me.

I never would have thought I'd pay $70 for a game, but after demoing Guitar Hero once, I was sold.
