Xbox One Controllers and Headsets Available for Pre-order

For those preparing to game with friend when next generation launches, the Xbox One controller is now available for pre-order on the Microsoft Store for $59.99. If you are looking for the controller along with a Play and Charge kit you will have to shell out $74.99, with the kit priced at $24.99 by itself. Additionally, Microsoft’s Store lists its wired headset, which totally should have been included with the console, for $24.99.

If it's not good quality, we have the option of using our PS3 headsets as well as Sony made sure the PS4 was compatible with them.

No 360 headset is compatible with Xbox One, and it doesn't come with one. That's the problem

Abash: I'm in the Xbox camp and even I can't see why you're getting disagrees here. he's right, not getting a headset or being able to use your existing headset sucks.

Kinect is not a viable alternative, I don't want to have to scream at my TV to talk to people, nor do I want in game chat to be mixed in with the game sounds from my TV.

Sucks but I'll suck it up and buy a seperate headset.

the Xbox One uses updated technology to make your headset sound better. I don't want old legacy stuff to hold back progress and better technology.

Also, why bother with a headset when you can join the future and use Kinect? No headset needed and crystal clear sound.

Maybe some of us like the privacy we get while using a headset.

On the ps4 I can use any headset that has a mic to work with it since the controller supports a 3.5mm jack. Or any other bluetooth headset on the market.

Don't get me wrong kinect is the future for medical uses, robots, etc... just it doesn't work with games unless they copy sony and use a controller with their camera.

I've read that ms is working on an adapter to make current wired headsets compatible to the xbox one. Time will tell if that will happen or not.

That may not be that good either. Unless they fixed the problems with the Kinect regarding voice recording talking over the Kinect is difficult because it keeps picking up ambient noise and being close to the TV it echoes. There would have to be a major overhaul (in hardware and software) to fix this issue for the Kinect 2.0 so I am not expecting it to be fully solved (and this has its own issues anyway)

Yeah they completely fixed those problems, basically it takes the wavepatterns of your game sound and cancels it out in the Kinect's software so it can focus on whatever it wants. saw this demoed at E3 and theirs even a video of it working somewhere.

I would love to know the difference between the current wired headset and the X1's. Is there a reason why one doesn't work for the other? I'm a dead sure there isn't since mostly all head phones are universal.

I'm not getting an x1 but I feel for those people buying an Xbox and the headset should be included. It also sucks that previous headsets won't be compatible without a adapter which means more $$$ to shell out.

This is a shame, what do the controller do that make it cost that much with rechargeable batteries, Wii U Pro Controller is 50 dollars and it last 80 hours, since this cost more, this better mean you do not have to charge your controller for 2 weeks
