At E3 this year EA announced that the latest installment of their NHL series will not be going to next-gen and for hockey fans, and this can only bring bad news.
Sony kicks off PS Plus' 15th anniversary by chatting with Game File about the past, present and future of its gaming subscription service: Talking price, catalogue tweaks and where the PS3 games are.
Glad, I’m about to downgrade when they raise the price. For me, I don’t really access much or care about the games they have in the library and if I do, it’d be cheaper to just buy them over time rather than stick to some expensive subscription model.
Extra is probably the best value for money right now, Premium doesn't have anything special enough to justify paying the additional imo.
cloud streaming to the portal, without using the ps5, is the selling point of premium to me.
After playing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at Summer Game Fest 2025, I think SEGA has something special and is innovating in the arcade racing world.
Little Nightmares 3 release date finally revealed following a delay, and it's coming before Halloween - watch the new trailer.
I know it is cool to hate on EA Sports, but damn I wish they would bring this game to PC.
I don't know if it is a mistake to skip next-gen for 14. As long as NHL 15 is on next-gen, I think they'll be okay.
There will still be a lot of PS3 and Xbox 360 users out there and I'm sure they would be working on NHL 15 already.
I don't know much about sports games to be honest, but I'm also inclined to believe that it probably will not hurt EA significantly if they simply wait to make the shift to next-gen with NHL15.
Yeah, this is not an issue. Same thing happened to the NHL franchise last generation moving from Xbox/PS2 to 360/PS3.
In 2005, when Xbox 360 released, EA released NHL 06 only on PS2 and Xbox. Then in 2006, when PS3 launched, they released NHL 07 on Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS2. So because both systems are coming out this year, next year, in 2014, will see the release of NHL 15 on all platforms.
I often wondered why they keep skipping the NHL series on next-gen launch years. Some of it might have to do with the NHL games not selling millions of copies like the Madden and Fifa games do, and possibly because the game only sells well in Canada anyways, so making a next-gen version that would only sell approximately 10,000 copies for the next-gen consumers is not feasible.
Kinda weird to me that all the other ea sports franchises are going next gen but not NHL. NHL has been the only ea series I've played for the last few years but I'll have to skip it this year and go with Madden or FIFA for my sports fix until next year
