Baden of WGB has finally gotten around to playing Civilization V thanks to the Steam Summer Sale, and needless to say he's rather impressed by the whole thing.
With E3 starting next week, 2K Games revealed the biggest E3 line up they have for the year

AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition 18.2.1 is optimized for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. Moreover, this driver addresses some corruption issues on some terrain in Need for Speed Payback, and some launch issues on Hybrid Graphics system configurations when using the DirectX9 API in Sid Meier’s Civilization V.
It appears that Sid Meier’s Civilization V has hit a new milestone. According to Steamspy’s data, Firaxis’ strategy game has sold more than 10 million units worldwide.
That's quite an achievement! It would be interesting to know how many units were sold at full price and how many during a Steam Sale. I think I bought it for $10 during one of the big sales.
As a Scotsman I still wish there was an option to play as Scotland with William Wallace as the leader. First order of business, ally with Ireland and invade England! :P
Might have to dig into the mods and see if any of those can make my dreams come true!
I used to love Civ 1-5 and none came even close. Now that I've been introduced to EU and CK I can't find that loving feeling I once had. Still great games though.
WolfleBlack, sounds like you'd love Crusader Kings 2 then as that's a very real possibility unmodded.
Brave new world is really really good
Easy, good game design. Game is an easy example of a game that doesn't have eye popping graphics and no story and it's still an amazing game because of the game design. It plays great, and is fun enough that you forget time and spend hours playing without realizing. Developing a video game should always place game design as the highest priority. Then depending on the game Story, stability, marketing, art, music and audio, multiplayer (only if it's a multiplayer game and is not shoehorned in), very last the graphics as they do not make the game. It's sad a lot of developers today think differently with graphics being first and everything else being something that should be attended too at some point.
Not as good as the Age of Empires, the settlers, Rise of nations etc. I am not a bog fan of whole turn based thing.
