Have any of you played the first Saints Row? If not, your missing out. I thought it was great. Gta-Killer? Nah. But it still is a great free roaming game..

Seriously guys.... If you havent played the first one then dont diss this game. The first one had really good grapics (i actually like this graphics better than GTA grapics) they are more realistic. If GTA had Saints rows grapics and customization........ woaaaahhh

The fire effect is what had me awed the most. I personally cant wait for this game, it will be sick.

OMG I CANT STOP LAUGHING... I THOUHGT THIS was a PS2 GAME!... I thought this was a joke to show what the saintsrow2 trailer was suppose to look like instead of that last crappy 1. Why does every game has to be someones killer? I mean why can't we have more games in one genre & I guess we don't have many games in Open World genre in the first place. So its good if we have more games. Competition is always healthy for gaming industry & its always better then just having 1 game & playing it to death.
On a serious note, I seriously hated that ad. Not the gameplay part but that uncle thingy.

there selling points are satchel charges, throwing people, and you now have the ability to taunt ppl. wow ive been throwing people in GTA vite city stories and ive been throwin satchel charges on people since GTA san andreas.... so this game is looking really lame right now.... although it has nice graphics, and i have the played the first all the way through it a funny game i love how it ended with him saying " Im hungry im goin to freckle B******" or something like that

if they bring back the pimp cane shotgun i may reconsider

Nah the selling point is the massive amount of customization. You can customize everything in the game, music, gangs, vehicles, hideouts. Its twice as big as the first game, and the graphics will be better (remember this is an alpha build they are showing). Also, the multiplayer is sick! This game isn't meant to compete with GTAIV, its meant to coexist. It isn't even the same experience or graphical style. And it will sell a few million for sure.

The original Saints Row was a good game. I enjoyed the customization you could wield over your character and vehicles (2 of the most important objects in the game), and the gameplay was fun. And while I do think THQ is stepping up their game and am liking many of the new features they're incorporating into it's gameplay, such as throwing people and the ability to deck out your place, I doubt I'll be purchasing the sequel due to GTA4, which I do ultimately think will be a better game. But to ignore the fact that Saints Row was the first next gen sandbox style game, and on top of that did a pretty damn good job at it is just asinine. As stated earlier, it's no GTA "killer", but on it's own it can more than stand on it's own 2, and I have no reason to believe why the sequel wouldn't do the same.

Besides the fact that once you put a car in your garage and took it out crashed it or blew it up you could go back to your garage and get it again, The free aim was very good. Way better then the lock on in san andreas.
