GameSpy writes: "It's funny, you can't really put games like the Ratchet & Clank series up on a pedestal without also acknowledging the genius behind the extraordinarily simple (but effective) formula. This "crazy weapons, loads of killing combined with a destructible environment" formula works, but the Destroy All Humans! series has never truly received the recognition that it deserves for doing a decent job of maintaining the standards we've all come to expect from such games. After getting first-hand experience with the new 360 iteration of the series, Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon looks as though it could deliver this classic formula in a gorgeous package... something the franchise has needed since its inception."
Spiffy:
-Brilliant flashy graphics with tons of special effects
-Fun power combinations, specifically psychokinesis car-surfing
Iffy:
-Preview version suffers from severe frame-rate issues
Indie sales around the web for the week ending on May 1.
Before games had a heavy emphasis on graphical capability they were all about fun and random craziness that would keep players coming back for more usually with a selection of unusual weapons
This week's "What They've Been Playing" features discussion of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, Terminator Salvation, Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon, TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Shatter and much more. They follow that up with some gaming news including the new Left 4 Dead DLC, the Starcraft II delay, the announcement of a Wii-port of COD4, and plenty more.
