Been in the beta, can't wait for it to finally release!

dbjj120884364d ago

I'm totally surprised by how much they've turned it around.

AcesHigh2914364d ago

Didn't play it when it was bad, can't image what was wrong with it. Hah

JonnyBigBoss4364d ago (Edited 4364d ago )

I'm having withdrawals. I just want to level up a Summoner already!

JAMurida4364d ago

I'm constantly refreshing the offical beta forums and /r/FFXIV hoping to see an offical announcement of Phase 4. Massive withdrawals indeed.

tommygunzII4363d ago (Edited 4363d ago )

Same here. It's almost all I can think about since P3 ended. Looking forward to unlocking BLM :o

Snookies124364d ago

I loved it as well, can't wait until phase 4 so my levels and stuff will carry over. Was sad to see all three of my beta characters go with phase 3. It's okay though, they'll be... Reborn...

fenome4363d ago

I just got accepted into the PS3 beta last night, took forever to download, so I just did it overnight while I was sleeping finally got done downloading earlier today and PHASE 3 IS OVER!!! Killin' me!! lol

It took so long I didn't think I'd get in anyways, at least the open beta is right around the corner. I wanna play this game, it looks like a TRUE Final Fantasy game. I got turned off after XIII, but I have faith in this one. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

They've lost my day one purchase, because they didn't give me a invite. Which really pisses me off because I bought FFXIII on the ps3 to get a code.

Now I'll wait for feedback on the game, and either get the PC version or the ps4 version.

DrakenSilverwing4364d ago

with the pre-order you get a code for early access, which is part of beta phase 4. don't be so upset, there were over a million applications.

NegativeCreepWA4364d ago (Edited 4364d ago )

Buying FFXIII was supposed to guaranty a beta invite for the PS3.

And after trying the train wreck that was FFXIV, I'm not blindly jumping in. Though I'll admit, I'll probably give in and buy it for the PC, I was wanting PS3 version, but after watching some videos, the controls kind of put me off.

While the controls look good, after playing so many PC mmos, it's hard not to see how much longer it takes to do things.

tommygunzII4363d ago

I would get it for the PC and hook a gamepad up. You will be glad you waited, a lot of people liked it so much so early they quit so that they didn't ruin the full experience.

DrakenSilverwing4363d ago

I really like it so far on the ps3, it still looks great as well, just not as high end as some pc's and all, also will be getting the CE for it as well, prolly pick up the pc one too since they use the same account so i can play on my laptop on the go and on the ps3 at home, it took some getting used to for the controls, but once you get the hang of it, its nice and quick still and i feel more comfortable playin it like that.

Either way, i can't wait. sorry ya didn't get in the beta tho. that sorta sux..

Theyellowflash304364d ago

why it's not a big deal ----> Monthy fees

- Final Fantasy 15, Final Fantasy 10 HD, and Lighting Returns FF 13 coming out this and next year.

NioRide4363d ago

Except those are offline games, and once they end, they end.

MMO's tend to have a story that flows for a long time, FF11, literally has 11 years of story behind it.

And after putting nearly 100 hours into the beta myself, the story in 14 plays just like it does in a regular FF, down to the cutscenes.

knifefight4363d ago

All of this while I've been thinking about getting back into FFXI.

Nevers4363d ago

Playing the Beta only on the weekends really gave me the FFxi bug back... but I'm not going to let my weird case of FFxi-Stockholm Syndrome take over. Good luck.

Do you not see this happening during development? Like, why are we apologizing after the fact instead of stopping it during development?

Stopac3d ago

Criticism and reflection occur after the fact. The apology acknowledges the past criticisms with the new expansion and they're keeping transparency with players about it. Now that they've acknowledged it - it will be interesting to see what kind of cycle we'll get with a new expansion and I wonder if they're planning something special with beast master since they didn't mention it in the last live letter.

anast4d ago

It's all good, as long as the price of the product decreases.

Stopac3d ago

The base game and expansion go on sale all the time and doesn't stay full price for very long since a new expansion is on the horizon.

If you're stating they should reduce the price of new expansions or the sub fee, no, that's not gonna happen lmao people aren't even complaining about that. They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy.

anast3d ago

"They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy."

The product should be cheaper then.

PapaBop3d ago

I was unhappy with DT and have spent far less time in it than any other expansion but it's things like this that makes me respect Yoshi P. It's rare for such a high profile developer to be so candid in his assessment on a live game.

Stopac3d ago

Same, i've found my self resubbing every two patches instead of keeping it up. Don't own a home in the game so there's no point in keeping a constant sub going. The post story is getting interesting though.
