Cube World - It's nothing like Minecraft!

I’m going to be honest, the first time I had ever heard of a game called Cube World was when one of our writers published an article about the alpha not too long ago. I took a quick look at it, and regrettable, hugely overlooked it. I thought a game which looks like Minecraft and is voxel-based, but doesn’t allow you to build and destroy, is going to get boring pretty quickly. Then when the alpha launched, I began to notice a lot of hype surrounding the game, so i did some further research, and decided It was something I probably wouldn’t enjoy. My thoughts were I would rather battle enemies, complete quests, craft and explore in Skyrim than in some cube-world equivalent.

I have been left eating those words, thanks to a game which has given me an immense amount of fun in just a few hours, and those hours will turn into days, trust me. I don’t think I have ever been quite so surprised before.

I bought it 2 days ago. I expected nothing. Because its alpha and made by just 2 developers.

God I was wrong. I loved it so much that I bought twice (for my brother) so we could play together.

Its still version 0.0.1 but already alot of fun. Cant wait to see the progress

I'll buy it if it comes out on PS4. When is the final version supposed to release?

I don't like gaming that much on computers. I like to relax and play on my couch or gaming chair. But I still do play some games on my PC, just not that much anymore. Keyboard controls are a pain in my opinion but Minecraft is the only exception.

Cube World Wasn't Worth The Wait

Kotaku writes: "I thought Cube World’s tighter focus and RPG elements would take the stuff I did like about Minecraft—its procedurally-generated worlds and a feeling of real boundlessness—and reign them into something more structured."

nice to see that us early purchasers will be getting Steam keys.

Downloaded and waiting for the beta.

This and NMS really restore your faith in devs supporting things for the long haul. I’ve had various projects I’ve backed on KS completely evaporate during the dev process so seeing studios rough it out over prologued periods is great.

I swear I read something similar about this a couple months ago.

I bought this game back in the day and completely forgot about it! It would've been nice if the developers sent out an email, not everybody uses Twitter or follows every game, especially after years of no updates. I like the game page on FB but the last post was from 2014. Developers relying on Twitter to keep fans updated are leaving a lot of people in the dark.

would be nice if us Alpha buyers get the game for free.

EDIT - apparently the dev confirmed that alpha purchases will get a Steam key. How nice.
