Can Zynga get a spark through Facebook?

Zynga has been in trouble recently and it seems like a lot of it comes from the idea that there is not much innovation. I have to agree, especially when your business is focused on the idea of games that people are to put their actual earnings into. If the products they’re playing are not going to prove to be substantial in the long term, why would they continue to invest in something that does not have their needs in mind? More likely than not, they are going to turn elsewhere.

In addition, recently Don Mattrick – former president of Microsoft’s Xbox division – left the mogul in order to become the new CEO of Zynga. One would think that a change in leadership would be for the best but it’s hard to say either way.

facebook is pretty much dead to me , its a meme fest and people fishing for likes and attention ! i remember when it was cool

That might be more to do with your friends than Facebook. I mean my feed is covered with people's graduation photos and summer related stuff. Still you get the odd crap like "Roman is having an OK day, and bought a Coke Zero at the gas station. Raise the roof."

On topic. I think they can but I think they need to try other angles

When spending 50 million to acquire Don Mattrick, they surely hope he can do miracles. Ironically what he probably should've done is tell them that handing out 1 million dollar salaries is the reason why they are in trouble.

If his miracles are anything like the xbox reveal or e3 they are boned.

Don Mattrick went to Zynga to get that 1 million and change salary for himself.

He'll throw around some ideas, talk the good talk at the annual or quarterly meetings, tell everyone things will change at Zynga, lay off another 500 staff, add his position to his resume, cash out his instant stocks, then be bought out by the company to leave.

He'll rinse and repeat until he makes another billion. That is all Zynga is, a cash stop for the over paid executive.

Star Wars: Hunters Review | GamingonPhone

Vince Zyle writes "Star Wars Hunters is a really fun game! It’s not as good as other Star Wars games like Star Wars Battlefront 2 but coming from a developer like Zynga who worked on very underwhelming and low-quality titles before, this is a major upgrade.

There’s not much objectively wrong with the game aside from the work needed to make visuals smoother during animations. That’s one of the biggest issues at present alongside frame drops that occur from time to time when there’s too much going on which isn’t too bad but certainly noticeable.

In conclusion, Star Wars Hunters is a game for arena shooter fans who are looking for an action-filled game. Some of the other issues will hopefully be ironed out with future updates."

I have to give props for the use of Electric Boogaloo reference. I don't think many young folk will even know what that is.

On topic... wasn't that where Don Mattrick went after leaving XB?

Lighter91255d ago

I'm not that young tbh. I only remember the reference from Family Guy.
