As the photo indicates, snapped from this month’s Edge magazine but almost certainly appearing across multiple outlets, Sony are still happy to really push the PS3, at least through until the all important Christmas period.
Why not when they can then used those new PS3 games to push PS+ and any online plans they have.
Sony never let the owners of the old system down. Tons of exclusives still to come on PS3 and PS3 owners shouldn't feel abandonned just because a new system has come out. Imagine with me: PS2 launched in 2000 and it's still getting FIFA14 this year!!!
@ gunsmoke Well how many exculsives did ps3 have this year alone compare to the 360? And there's still beyond two souls😝 Oops forgot about gt6
Its still - likely - going to be an example of Sony using subtle manipulation to get people online and reward them for it, for a fee of course, versus MS forcing things while having their hand out as if you owe them money. @noctis_lumia: What's the point of pointing out exclusive PS3 content when the exact same thing happens on the 360?
Gunsmoke compare to your piece of trash 360 and the old xbox the guy is right sony NEVER let down their costumers owner of ps1-2-3-psp-vita and yes never got abandonned by sony so far. and we still getting exclusives games unlike the 360 puppeteer beyond 2 souls gt6 until dawm rain tales of xillia ratchet n clanck into nexus ffx-x2 HD KH 1.5 remix HD assassins creed 4 EXCLUSIVE gameplay content ONLY on ps3 same for watchdogs should i continue ?
@Gunsmoke: Sony has a history of continuing support for its current generation consoles well after the next one releases. By way of a for instance, God of War 2 launched on the PS2 four months after the launch of the PlayStation 3. As for this gen, the games coming this year speak for themselves. Even with the launch of the PS4 looming in the background, we're still seeing games like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, a new Gran Turismo, and a new Ratchet and Clank game as well. The only one talking out of their butt here is you. Sony isn't Microsoft; they don't just cut off their older consoles just because the new hotness is available. Speaking of the 360, does it happen to have any good exclusives coming out this year (or ever again)? I haven't heard anything.
Bahahahahahaah! That list is pathetic. Is that the "tons" of exclusives you speak of? And not only that, you are touting exclusive content! They very thing that MS has got scoffed at! And two of them are remakes! Unbelievable! So I will request again. Could someone post a list of these "tons" of exclusives. I will wait and I will laugh, again. And some of you think MS will stop releasing 360 games when the One comes out. Ok, who wants to take a bet? And im serious. If MS stops supporting the 360 when the One comes out I will pay whoever wagers a $1000. If they keep supporting it, you owe me the same. Come on kids, put your money where your mouth is. *edit* still waiting on all you tough guys bets
@Gunsmoke: Can you list a "ton" of 360 exclusives which will show MS is committed to support the console? noctis_lumia didn't do his argument any favors by including "exclusive" content, but what have you done beside want a literal representation for "ton".
What's the point of naming exclusive games when your biased opinion is just going to write them all off? Where's your list, Gunsmoke?
There was a new PS3 exclusive game announced that we haven't heard of before... literally 2 days ago. Some people just live up their backside I guess. Microsoft has had 2 consoles out and they dropped the first one like a rock, without looking back. Their second system is still going, because their 3rd one has not been released yet. But with the amount of exclusive games that came out for the 360 in the last 3 years, or lack there of, I would not be surprised if they wipe out any evidence of the 360 off of their official websites, as soon as XBox One releases.
*serg* Microsoft has had 2 consoles out and they dropped the first one like a rock, without looking back well the thing does weigh a ton
ok calm down fanboys. Gunsmoke never mentioned about MS supporting 360, he just wanted others to list out "tons" of PS3 content. We all know current gen is dying. Don't care if Fifa 14 is still being released for PS2. i mean which gamer still buys PS2? PS3 has a year or 2 left. If you are a gamer and do not have a next gen console or good enough PC by that time then amybe you are not a big enough gamer as you claim. I mean i still haven't had a chance/time to play LastoofUs yet, but If they made Last of Us, Beyond and GT6 a PS4 exclusive then they probably would have made the console even more attractive. I'm sure some 360 gamers would have been attracted to the PS4 if it had more first party support.
@Gunsmoke Someone has hurt feelings cause their system of choice will only release 1 exclusive in a year. Thats truly sad if you ask me. Just goes to show how MS tends to operate, but people will defend them to the end of the earth. @hkgamer My son still plays and buys games for the PS2. Obviously being it is still supported means there is a demand for it.
So, no one could post a list of the "tons" of exclusives apart from that one guy that made me laugh. Ok so its settled then, the PS3 doesn't have a lot of exclusives still to come. Its a myth among Sony fanboys. Also no-one has taken me up on my bet either. So I guess you Sony fans really dont believe the crap you post. You guys are very amusing.
@hkgamer: Look at Gunsmoke's comment history. You really think there's any actual point in trying to have an intelligent conversation with this person? I don't see one, so I'm just having fun.
@Gunsmoke, you keep on mentioning "ton"...you do realise a ton is a unit for weight? And noctis_lumia mentioned 9 exclusives for this year, metaphorically speaking, for a console on it's 7th year with it's next iteration coming in the horizon, 9 exclusives can be counted as a "ton". So there you have it. What are you gonna say to that? Oh wait...looks like you're out of bubbles.
@Gunsmoke: I doubt abzdine meant "tons" in the literal sense of the definition. Besides, like Godmars said, can YOU list tons of exclusives that the Xbox 360 has for this year? Oh, and the exclusive games look bleak? Tell me, what kind of taste in games do you have? Because games like Rain, Puppeteer, Beyond: Two Souls, Tales of Xillia, and The Last of Us have more personality and creativity than Forza Motorsport or Kinect Sports Rivals. You laughing off the list provided by noctis is laughable. This is especially considering that your request for another list of PS3 exclusives will only result in you laughing at it again. Be careful, your Xbox fanboyism is showing. But just to humor you, here's the list for PS3 and PS4 exclusives from this year and in the future: PS3 - Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk, Beyond: Two Souls, Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness, Dragon’s Crown, Dust 514, God of War: Ascension, Gran Turismo 6, Guacamelee!, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, MLB 13: The Show, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Puppeteer, Rain, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Tales of Xillia, The Guided Fate Paradox, The Last of Us, The Witch and the Hundred Knights, Time and Eternity, and Until Dawn. (20 games) PS4 - Basement Crawl, Deep Down, Driveclub, Galak-Z: The Dimensional, Infamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, The Order: 1886, Rocketbirds 2: Evolution, and Super Stardust HD. (10 games listed so far) There's your list that you'll most likely laugh at with probably no clue as to what half of these games are. By the way, no one is going to bet one thousand dollars with a complete stranger over the internet. Stop being a child.
@Gunsmoke: "Could you post me a link to the release schedule?" No but i can recommand you to use these: http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?i...
Outside of the exclusives already mentioned by above users, ill throw in hatsune miku in there.
Sony knows not everyone is early adapters to the next gen. PS3 will be going strong till 2016-2017 at least
Gunsmoke The diffrence between M$ and Sony's exclusive content is that Sony's content is actually exclusive. Look up the word. All M$ does is pay to get it earlier, but what good is that when a month later Sony gets it too. Bioshock Infinite includes the original Bioshock, Stranglehold included Hard Boiled, Assassin's Creed Revelatins included AC1, Watchdogs has an extra hour of content, etc. And all these things are permanent exclusives that Sony gamers get at no extra cost. You have no rebuttal for this.
Gunsmoke: I think you need Preparation H for that butthurt there.
PS3 still has a ton of exclusives coming out. Can't send those games out to die.
I can't believe they still cost $250-300
Big xbox guy but sony is fantastic with supporting last gen consoles whilst launching next gen consoles, and supporting them for years after. kudos to them.
That's big of you to admit...seriously...thanks for a rare spot of maturity in these days of the console bridge.
I just don't see the support lasting as long as the PS2 just because everything take so much more work & time for the developers.
No question that eventually it will be 3rd parties doing the "heavy lifting" for game support as Sony's in house developers will be moving on to PS4 development. However beyond this year Sony will still continue to support their 10 year plan with PS3 in terms of system and accessory availability along with back catalog availability.
ready to jump into ps4, i want kz sf so bad, the trademark helghast shooting feel in next gen plus goldeneye 007 like mission structure = awesomeness
Aint that the truth geez so many great games coming out Tales of Xillia Beyond Two Souls Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Gran Turismo 6 Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus
Damn, I am glad sony isn't abandoning the ps3. I need to finish a backlog of games before buying the ps4.
and FF14 TOX 2 next year and more
BlazBlue ChronoPhantasma is enough for me haha
Did Microsoft stop support for the 360 after Halo 4?
Microsoft barley supported their system after 2008.
I think MS stopped 360 support around the kinect period. :D On a serious note, I think Halo 4 might have been their last game. They are concentrating more on the next gen. Some part of me wishes that Sony did the same.
Yeah, I was very disappointed with motion gaming this generation... Wii's best use was Wii sports, PS3's best use was Sport's Champions (if it was online... it could have been killer), & Kinect's best use was the various microphone controls and independent hacks.
I want a PS4 by XMAS but if not,I'll get one around tax time Feb/Mar 2014,I'm playing alot of games now on my PS3 & there are more exclusives I want to buy & play throughout the year & into the next.
It makes me proud to have bought a ps3 3 months after launch to still have exclusive games coming out all these years later.
I own both systems (I bought my 360 for $50 from a friend after he bought a PS3) and I believe with time Microsoft can be a worthy opponent. Sony has had time to develop the biggest in-house development team as far as consoles go. Sony's development teams are obviously going to push out more AAA games. But if Nintendo and Microsoft don't get their shit together, Sony will have the throne... and Nintendo will be left with just handhelds and Mircosoft will be pushing a Halo racing (please don't let Sackboy be the face of PS4, bring back Crash ... hell Knack).
Not sure where the hell I read it, but there was a crash bandicoot rumor with naughty dog developing it :D Now Sony's PR is doing great at the moment, but it needs to step up during launch time and make people believe that PS4 is the machine to have for online gaming similar to how 360 is right now.
I agree, but ONLY if MS really decides to dive into gaming full force. Sure, they leveraged their knowledge in software and online to create Live. But, they still haven't embraced what the industry needs from them. Their OWN games. They have tons of money to buy up whoever...whenever. That can only keep you afloat for so long. At some point you really have to focus on in house studios to quell the doldrums that eventually come towards the end of a consoles life...and to jump start a new generation for that matter.
Thats why i buy sony consoles they gwt supported jnlike nintendo. Those good for nothings
PS3 has plenty of life left in it, it'll do me at least another year before I decide to make the jump to next gen. I never see the point in buying a console at launch, I always wait till at least the first price drop and until there's a decent library of games.
Do me a favor. Next time you are in Gamestop ask them if they are still getting shipments of PS3's. You may be surprised by the answer.
Dont hate me but the people saying ill wait a year or two to buy the ps4, how many of you a month after the ps4 release will do out there and buy a ps4?? Just wondering more curious, thanks :D
I don't think they'll be many, not because they don't want to but because I don't see it being possible to find one on store shelves a month after release. I wouldn't personnally buy one that soon though. The PS3 was out 18 months before I bought one along with an extra controller and 6 games and that was still cheaper than the basic console price at launch. If I do give in and buy one early though I will pm you to tell you that you were right, never say never!
The amount of JRPGs that are coming out are going to keep me busy. I still need to get Ni Nu Kuni
