Broforce combines guns, glory, and ‘Merica into a savory ’80s action stew (2D-X)

The gaming industry's at a point in time when we can safely say that ’80s-inspired video games aren’t just a nostalgic-laced trend, but a sub-genre all its own. What began with Mega Man 9 blossomed and bloomed into a category that includes Double Dragon Neon, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Hotline Miami. Far Lives’ man-ificently named Broforce combines elements of those titles with its 2D platforming action, chunky explosions, and send-ups of iconic images we hold close to chest. And it’s a lot of fun.
