Is The Last of Us to be continued? Maybe so

During the cinematic "He ain't even hurt" an interesting conversation pops up between Joel and Ellie. Is The Last of Us to be continued, maybe so.

I coulda swore I read that when they said joel and ellie "is done" they ment the search for the fireflys arc. hinting a possible return.....but no matter the state or whether they return I would like to see a trilogy off this series....I mean if jak and daxter, uncharted, gow, ratchet, gears,halo, ect.ect. get sequels...all great games btw...then tlou BETTER get a sequal...and id perfer them to continue witg joel abd ellie...I want to see her grow up into a badass chick who carrys two magnums and cure bombs mad from her , own blood....imagin crafting that! ....she loses her health when crafting the bombs.....smh just saying the game still has a ton of potential...sooo sequel please.

I believe Joel and Ellie's journey is done. Maybe they can spin it off from someone else's point of view.

Well developers say a lot of characters stories are done after one game and then after they've done so well they end up popping up for the next game.

Time will tell I suppose.

Honestly I think this game was a masterpiece and I hope it don't get a sequel, at least with Joel and Ellie. Don't get me wrong ND makes amazing games arguably maybe the best dev out there but by all means, the game ended so soundly with such open interpretation on what could happen but I personally believe Joel and Ellie's journey should be complete and leave it at masterpiece status.

Now imo I would love to see a prequel set during when the outbreak first happened so we could slowly see society crumble and come to be what it was for Joel and Ellie, I think that would be a great set up for many stories and give a all around different feel.

for me am torn, i love how it ended, but enjoyed them so much i want see them more. maybe part 2 could be a side story for ps4, while they learn the engine an part 3 could be the end of the trilogy, while also bringing back Joel an Ellie

I would be fine if Naughty Dog didn't return to this franchise, and left the story where it is. I had no problem with the ending, I thought it was appropriately ambiguous. It was fitting. I loved the story, what a game. Joel, the bastard, choosing his own selfish needs and wants over the needs of mankind. Even if a cure could not have been engineered for those already infected, at the very least the scientists should have been able to develop an inoculation for those not yet affected. Instead, Joel could not bear the thought of losing his daughter all over again, someone he came to care for like his own babygirl. Ellie would have chosen differently. When she says "After all we've been through, after everything I've done, it can't be for nothing", in the end, what was the result of their journey. Nothing. All the lives taken, the sacrifice and the suffering, and they end up pretty much back where they began. No cure, no real sense of hope for the future. And that would break her heart. If naughty dog does do another iteration of this franchise, I could see them doing a prequel to show what life was like in those 20 intervening years between the outbreak and the beginning of our story. We might learn more about Tess, Joel, where Ellie was born, who her mother was and how they grew up...it would be fascinating. And if they wanted to wrap up a trilogy they might go back to the future with the third game, maybe another 20 years has passed and Ellie has survived to adulthood and we see the toll the intervening years have taken on her and the world. I love this game. I feel sorry for those who cannot experience this story, because it truly is what games can and should be.

That's kinda how I feel to.
I'm not even sure they could top the original anyway and the gameplay won't feel as fresh the second time. They would have to really mix things up to make it as exciting as the original. Saying that though they could easily do that with the PS4 hardware :D

There shouldn't be one, honestly. Sometimes, something is so great and such an amazing experience that you shouldn't tarnish it by trying to milk it. ND is the best and we should look forward to whatever they move on to next.

Very emotional and deep story,it is one of the best story i've experienced this generation so far...Naughty Dogs are the best Devs hands down this generation(average 94+ on metacritic!!!!!!!!)
