Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Shows Gamers Tolerate Similar Sequels

"Despite only appearing a year after its predecessor, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 has already sold 2 million copies worldwide, a feat big enough for Ubisoft to raise its guidance for the current fiscal year from €875 million to €920 million. If you've played or read any reviews on Vegas 2, it's quite evident that the departure from the previous game doesn't stray too far from the borders of Sin City. im yet to get this, is there really hardly a difference between vegas 1 and 2?

It wouldn't srprize me. GRAW and GRAW 2 had very few differences...

predator3853d ago

apart from updated graphics and new maps online yeah hardly changed, but GRAW 1 and 2 were awesome though

Hell I might get into game dev. $2mill is a ton, considering how much it cost to change the titles on the box.

So will "MORE OF THE SAME" be a praise now instead of a knock?

This is what Ghost Recon and Rainbow 6 have done for years! Release two games on the same engine (most times a year apart from one another) then in another year or two they break out a whole new game engine...these aren't really sequals, they're a chapter two of the first game.

As long as the first one is good I don't mind picking up the next one, it doesn't bother me because I realize that the 3rd installment in the rotation will bring a whole new aproach to the series.
