sad bit of truth about corporate control

KwietStorm2117d ago

Has nothing to do with corporate control. Our patent and trademark system is a joke.

Interesting as flame fonts have been around since the early Apple / Atari 8-bits.
You have to wonder if the patent itself is fraudulent.
Of course the next thing will be Bungie telling them they can't use Myth as it's a game series name.

Patents should be abolished, it's anti-competitive.

Type of thing you'd expect in some shitty world run by big businesses, oh wait...

I don't think it'd be a good idea to just abandon the patents system as it does reward those who come up with new and exciting ideas first, but the system should be tweaked.

It has to follow a far more specific guidelines, if there are obvious similarities sure.
I mean, let's say there was a game called 'Myth' with fire letters, and another game called 'Legend' with fire letters within a relevent timeline, that's definitely bs. But like if a game is called 'Dragon's Inferno' or something and has flaming letters, then it shouldn't apply.

Like I said that, it needs to be more specific.

First Apple, then Namco, followed by Bethesda, now EA... Someoje has to end these patent trolls.
