Tom Clancy’s The Division: A Promising Combination of Gaming Genres

The most surprising revelation on E3 this year was probably the upcoming Ubisoft’s hybrid title Tom Clancy’s The Division. Instead of zombies, the apocalyptic scenario here will become more coherent and realistic, a deadly fabricated virus will infect the world’s population and chaos will overcome order in simply five days. What’s truly intriguing, however, is the combination of different gaming genres that for the first time seems to be reaching the next-generation level of hybrid games.

It's about time that the gaming companies start creating something TRULY NEW, too bad it won't come out for PC tho :(

tracyllrkn3953d ago

If you want it on PC, PC gamers have to sign a petition to show interest in the game. Otherwise, it'll never come to PC.

Senyra3953d ago

It normally doesn't work that way. Coding for consoles and PC is quite different, if they didn't announce anything so far, it will hardly happen.

I don't agree nor disagree but it may come to the PC. Is involving the mmo genre in it.

I think what was normal in the past is becoming less so with the new consoles, which as we've all read are more like PCs than they've ever been. SOE is bringing Planetside 2 to PS4 and have mentioned several times that work on the port will benefit the PC version.

Since it makes sense from a business standpoint to put a game on as many platforms as possible, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see more console games brought to PC this generation than ever before.

No words can describe how truly excited I am for this game.

This game will get me back into online multiplayer. Ill play BF4 no doubt but in the last couple years I've only played new games online for a few month before getting bored. The division looks like a game I could play for a long time.

The graphic really catched my eyes along with FF XV and MGS V. I wonder what Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica can do with PS4...

Btw, is this game have SP?

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno383d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic383d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman382d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon382d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
