Making the Player Feel Bad is a Good Thing

The Last of Us's ending, man, I was like NO I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS. I literally stopped and paused with my gun aimed at the surgeon waiting there for like a minute going ahhhh do I have to?!

No game has EVER made me feel that much distress in killing before. Ever. It's usually always easy and satisfying.
