Triverse writes, "Zombie Derby is a 2.5D running game, or in this case, side scrolling driving game. Hills, traps, explosive barrels and more obstacles other than many different types of zombies stand between you and the safety of the citadel at the other end of the level. Essentially, the challenge of reaching the other end of the level is compounded by the choices you make in the truck setup screen. Don’t upgrade your fuel enough and you won’t have enough gas to make it. Forget ammo and you will be forced to ram zombies and other obstacles, which will burn valuable fuel to gain speed again."
There's some cheap and easy Xbox Gamerscore on offer if you must boost your numbers, but otherwise Zombie Derby is a game that'll be over in an evening, swiftly removed from the hard-drive thereafter.
It's perhaps a little too basic for lengthy periods of play, but Zombie Derby is an entertaining title that puts a different spin on the zombie genre.
AR: Zombie Derby is about three ubiquitous concepts: destruction of the undead, crazy driving, and insane vehicular modifications.
In this motorized horror adventure, a vehicle is commandeered from left to right, trying to make it to a safe haven. Between me and that safe haven are innumerable zombies and obstacles… not to mention other unfortunate issues, like inadequate gas supply. Plowing through monster bodies earns cash.
