One Rockstar That Doesn’t Like the Limelight.

If you have been a core gamer for past decade then you are aware of Rockstar Games, and their unorthodox ways of business. At last year’s E3 the developer opted out of making an appearance entirely. This year however, the stakes were a bit higher for everyone so there was more to lose had they stayed home. As most are aware, GTA V is set to release in September this year after suffering a previous delay. With this in mind, it seemed strange for Rockstar to not make their presence felt as their most anticipated release in years draws closer.

Some sources say that Rockstar originally planned to have a playable demo on the E3 floor, but it hasn’t been confirmed to be fact. Furthermore, Sony is going to release a bundle for the fifth installment. So once again the question must be begged, why was there no gameplay for GTA V? Rest assure that this game will sell itself, but how much longer will the fans endure not having a solid vision of what the game will play like. So far there have already been a few trailers revealed and a plethora of screenshots released/leaked to the public to keep appetites from becoming ravenous.

Its GTA we know what to expect

It's RS so no question it will be an excellent game

showtimefolks4386d ago

Also remember most of their last games also had very limited gameplay coverage

RDR which is conspired by many including myself as one of the best games of all time wasn't even shown by RS and it turned out great

GTA5 is gonna bring the fun back to the series, my only negative about GTA5 isn't on the game it's the limited and collectors edition which both aren't that thought out

But game itself is a day one buy for me, don't need reviews

Gamesgbkiller4386d ago (Edited 4386d ago )

You are right.

They now have more time to do polishing since they will not bother them selves to show it in events like GamesCom..etc.

Rrobba4386d ago

Shame, because they deserve it.

unchartedxplorer4386d ago

If GTA V does happen to be a major disappointment, the series will be screwed.
Although knowing R* there is a 1% chance of this happening

Cam9774386d ago (Edited 4386d ago )

Rockstar are one of the best VIDEOGAME developers today. I'd say R* and Naughty Dog produce some of the highest quality games we've ever had in the industry; therefore, we're very lucky to have them. Oh, and judging by their track record yet have a very little disappointment percentage.

RedSoakedSponge4386d ago

yep! i believe they would never release a game they didnt love to death in studio

dcortz20274386d ago

Well said. Both devs love the games they make and give them their all. They don't need to prove/show us gamers or the industry anything. They have already earned all of our respect!

yeahokchief4385d ago

Both are top notch. Best of the best. Top tier developers.

thorstein4386d ago

I would love to see a next gen Manhunt game with no blurring.

ifritAlkhemyst4386d ago

Hell yes. But bring back the John Carpenter-ish style. Manhunt 1 is forever replayable due to the style alone.

The 'Stop Killing Games' initiative is close to its final deadline

Ross Scott—also known as Accursed Farms on YouTube—has been fighting tooth and nail for almost a full year to help spearhead game preservation. Starting after it was announced that Ubisoft's The Crew would be shutting down, permanently ending support for the game, Scott launched the "Stop Killing Games" initiative.

That makes a twofold deadline for the Stop Killing Games initiative. Or, at least, one headed up by Scott: The UK petition, which ends July 14, and the EU Citizens' Initiative, which ends July 3.

M3talDiamond2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

If you live in the EU then Please sign this or our game ownership rights and game preservation is
at stake. I know there isnt much time left but please consider signing the petition

I never knew Ross Scott was doing this

I love Freemans Mind

Inverno18h ago(Edited 18h ago)

People whine and in the end don't do a thing. Then whine more when they get screwed some more smh. If this makes it then it'll be monumental for consumers. That Pirate software guy was no help either smh.

The EU Date is the 31st July not the 3rd

"Players can now hide system apps, pin favorites to the list, and reduce the number of tiles displayed. This update is part of our ongoing effort to make Home more personal, flexible, and responsive to feedback."

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
