GameZone: " Right from the get-go it's easy to see that this is a true representation of the Nerd in video game form. I died about 20 seconds (more like 11 seconds) into the preview build of AVGN Adventures, and I immediately witnessed the Nerd spouting off in true foul-mouthed fashion. Every time he dies in the game, he'll make a different derogatory remark toward the game itself. The Nerd knows that he's in a video game, but just because he's the star of this project doesn't mean he's going easy on it."
Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures is a 2D platformer with a retro game style. The title tries really hard to capture the difficulty of old NES games, as well as the character of the Angry Video Game Nerd. While the graphics, music, and controls are all fantastic, it falls a little short in the level design, story, and humour.
SteamFirst: I decided to put off writing about the game I was supposed to review this week to write about a game I played for the first time at PAX Prime 2013. I have actually been sinking a decent amount of time into that game, and I have enjoyed it so it will be getting a favorable review at some point in the near future, but I have been wanting to review this game for a while now, even though it’s not exactly a new release anymore.
Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN), a popular YouTube production from Cinemassacre, continues to grow in reputation with the announcement of a sequel to The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures.
Thanks to Texas-based SGC 2015, indie developer FreakZone Games was given an opportunity to unveil the project to attendees.
