I have just finished it... Iam amazed by this game it is hands down the best game I have ever played and probably ever will play its going to be hard to top this game I cried I laughed I was shocked I was scared all in one game. Thank you naughty dog for once in a lifetime experience which is the last of us.

I'd give this game an 8/10 too.......if I only played half of it lol, reviewer is either nitpicking or hates stealth games.

Enemy AI is stupid?? They take cover and try to flank you, and they come after you when you run out of ammo, don't know what game this fool was playing. It's not perfect, but have you paid attention to the AI of other games? All of a sudden we are very strict on AI lol.

enemy AI just ignore your teammate(s) sometimes, leads to rather comical moments, like when both an enemy and teammate are chasing you and ignoring each other.

I actually didn't see much of this, I'm sure it has happened but I don't think it justifies an 8/10 or 7/10 for a game like this. I usually found Ellie saving my ass once or twice, I'll see what happens on my second playthrough.

If the enemy AI target your companions then we are gonna heve reviews complaining about that, that your companions get in the way. Thus making reviewers complain the game is too hard than it already is.

Maybe Naughty Dog made the AI to ignore people other than you to balance the game, did anyone think about that? Or maybe the AI is targeting the one they think is the greater threat which is 'you' the player.

The complaints about the AI & difficulty are nitpicks simple as that. I see reviewers say games are too short or easy. TLOU is the closest thing we get to experiencing a real dire situation. When people are baring down on you, of course your adrenaline is going to be off the charts cause you are trying to live just like the ones attacking you.

The game is unlike anything i have ever played.

I noticed this, too, but it's probably for the best. For instance, pathfinding in AI isn't perfect yet, so it'd be frustrating if Ellie or some other ally blew your cover because they couldn't hide quickly or even in the right place.

Naughty Dog stated in a recent interview that they made a trade off so if you're sneaking around the enemy they will ignore team mates. They found in play testing that if they did not do this it would make the experience not that enjoyable.

The enemy AI is brilliant. The friendly AI is kind of dumb.

I too am a bit disappointed with that, I was hoping the pathfinding would be better. But it isnt and they made them invisible to the enemy on purpose because no one would play the game if your location was being given away every 2 minutes.

Sometimes its a bit silly and it does break the immersion but its a minor gribble in the larger picture.

you are right, but the way the author comes to the conclusion is rather on the unintelligent side.

I would explore other elements into why I would rate the Last of Us as a 80/100. Spoilers aside, I would start with using Ellie's bratty attitude, and inconsistent transgression as a point to draw on.

Of course, I believe the last of us suffered very little in any aspect of the game and rightfully deserves the massive amounts of perfect or near perfect scores. The game is a masterpiece, got out and enjoy it for yourselves. Put it this way my gf hates when i play video games but she sat on the couch with me as we explored the narrative.

What a joke, I just finished the game today and the combat NEVER felt dull or tedious. I actually loved the combat and the different animations and ways you could kill something. I also didn't see any bugs really... the only thing I noticed is Ellie got stuck maybe once or twice at the most the whole 13hrs I played. 8/10 isn't a bad score but your points for bad grades are poor.

People need to play and experience the game for what the game is. It shows a harsh cruel world not to far from the harsh cruel world that we are heading for in reality regardless if there is a pandemic or apocalypse... It only takes one event to cause the chain to break. Society as we know it is getting weaker everyday.. Marshall law and chaos are just around the corner.

But back to the point leave all past history with Naughty Dog in the back of your mind.

This game is pure genius from what I've played. I haven't been so engaged by multiplayer in awhile and the single player game is so damn compelling.
