Official DUALSHOCK 4: Hands-on Impressions from E3

DualShock 4 Following its debut at PlayStation’s February 20th event in New York City, DualShock 4 has emerged at E3 in near-final form. Though DualShock 3 has proven to be a capable and dependable wireless controller for years with PlayStation 3, the PS4’s new weapon of choice is a clear improvement across the board. Here are some quick E3 2013 impressions.

It looks sooo comfortable compared to DS3. dont get me wrong I love DS3, but I could definitely see myself not getting fatigued after long hours of BF with this controller.

Have held one. Felt great and looks really slick compared with DS3.

Best thing for me was the texture and the new convex L2/R2.

Obviously, I didn't use the touch thing.... YET!

That would be down to how a game uses the buttons.

I didn't play anything with it, just held it for 30 seconds.

I hope the DS4 is good as it's my only reservation about the PS4, the DS3 wasn't my style

I'm of the persuasion that the Xbox controller is better for shooters.....but, uh....I'm SOOOO tired of shooters.

DS4 is middle of the road - the Ubuntu of gamepads, if you will.

I like the fact that the peripheral port is on the bottom,
which may lead to a keyboard add on, like 360 had. Which in my opinion, was a really great, natural feeling accessory placement. Headphone jack at the bottom is also convenient.

Gonna take alot of getting use to, using an xbox controller the past 10 years.

yeah man i loved xbox's controlers. but you will get used to the ps analog posistion after finishing a fps game. head shots no problem after that dog, trust me.

I think I like the matte finish on the handles the best. After a long session my hands would get slippery and uncomfortable. The joystiqs seem to be further apart as well. And my second fav part is the tightening of the deadzone. The DS3 was too loose IMO.

I love Playstation controllers. The controller feel is like that of quality. I never had a problem with it. I'm sure the new one is even better.

I really like the DS4 though. With the DS3 and sixaxis, it was too old school. Sony unlike microsoft didn't change the aesthetics of the controller, so it seemed a tad dated.

This Dualshock 4 looks amazing, I love it. Xboxone has a good controller too. Finally BOTH companies have GREAT controllers.

Has sony talked about the touchpad in any meaningful way? I hope the touchpad doesnt get lost in the fray like the motion controls.
