No Wolfenstein: The New Order for Wii U, says Machine Games dev

Bethesda were being coy about the release platforms for Wolfenstein: The New Order, refusing to confirm if “next-gen” covered Wii U. Now, though, Machine Games dev Tommy Björk has categorically stated that the game will not be coming to Nintendo’s console.

i really want to understand why all these developers dont want to bring their games to as much audience as possible. i am not trolling it just baffles me. is nintendo not paying them enough or is it something else

G20WLY1954d ago's something else ;)

MasterCornholio1954d ago

Just a theory but I believe that these developers don't want to bring their games to the Wii U because they believe that they won't be able to turn a profit with Nintendo's console.

your probably rite there most 3rd partys feel only mario and zeldas make money, but if that was the case then suraly the conduit on the wii wudnt of recieved conduit 2 because surly it makes no sense to make a 2nd game if you didnt make a profit on the 1st.

BattleAxe1954d ago

The Conduit only ended up selling 540,000 copies worldwide, so it didn't do too well.

Nintendo needs to make sure that games like Battlefield, Call of Duty and even games like Wolfenstein make their way over to the WiiU, otherwise the WiiU will not be able to attract the demographic they need to compete head to head with Sony and Microsoft, although it doesn't seem like Microsoft is going to be competing at all with the way things have been going.

I think that Nintendo really has to get the word out that playing online on the WiiU is free. This would benefit them in a huge way if they can market their console properly.

It baffles me also. If you're going to be exclusive to one console then fair enough, but when you have 3 consoles out there that are more than capable of supporting a game then not developing for one is just limiting your consumer base.

The thing that gets me the most is that the PS4 and Xbone don't even have an install base yet, why choose to develop exclusively for current gene consoles that aren't even out, and then choose to compleatly pass over the one that actually has an install base?.

Mikelarry1954d ago

@ zero crossing the point about install base exactly what i was thinking.

@ master i see your point its, the developers are silly tho its not like the wiiu has failed completely. but fair do to them.

kwyjibo1954d ago

I think it's because the PS4 and X1 are just going to be PC ports, they essentially get it for free.

Rask1954d ago

The Wii U hardware can't keep up with the other next-gen consoles.

Mikelarry1954d ago (Edited 1954d ago )

but its coming to the ps3 and 360 and it a well known that the wiiu is slightly more powerful than those

Trago13371954d ago

Then why's the game coming to PS3 and 360?

I think this has to do with install base if nothing else.

zerocrossing1954d ago

Since it's coming to the PS3 and 360, I doubt that the Wii U's architecture is the issue.

The audience for this game is small on the Wii U, it is a niche first-party centric console for Mario games.
