3D Realms/Apogee Software file lawsuit against Gearbox Software

DSOGaming: "And here we go. Apogee Software and 3D Realms released a press released in which they claimed that Gearbox Software owes Apogee more than $2 million in unpaid royalties and advance payments after Gearbox bought rights related to Apogee’s “Duke Nukem” video game, according to a breach of contract suit filed Friday in Texas state court."

pretty weird situation. Curious to see what will happen

A part of me hopes 3D Realms win this. Not because I think they're right, but because I dislike Gearbox heavily. They messed up two releases in a row now. And Borderlands 2 is a broken PoS now on most modern Nividia cards due to their updates.

Well, whatever bias you have. 3D Realms was the one who made most of the failure that was DNF. 3D Realms lost all of their manpower and skill Lonnnng long ago. If it weren't for Gearbox who tried to help them out and make DNF's infamous nature end finally, they'd be nowhere. 3D Realms was in debt, was going bankrupt, and Gearbox took them in, Randy wanted to help make the game series that he first worked on to come back to life.

Just it was a game at the core, had no chance of success even with Gearboxes' help.

I'd call them ingrates. It sounds like 3D Realms projected and hoped to gain profit or money for DNF but it failed so hard that any promises or contracts couldn't rightfully be fulfilled and yet they're still pursuing some kind of cash settlement. It failed, they did horribly and they want money for it.....

You fail to miss my point. I actually don't care about the lawsuit, in of itself. I'm just pissed at Gearbox's piss poor performance at development. Tons of great ideas, terrible coding.

No, I didn't miss the point and you telling me I did won't make it automatically true.

I'm telling You, people who whine at Gearbox for one Flunked game? People are overdramatizing it. Companies can make mistakes, and learn from it. But to 'expect' and predict like we're all-knowing fucking psychics that somehow Gearbox will think it 'ALRIGHT' to make More Alien-Colonial-games? Because we as gamers somehow become SO self-entitled like professional critics that MUST be heard.....Cmon.

They fucked up once and people are basically going to a brink of giving them death threats. Gamers, nerds, players, a lot of the ones complaining beyond the legitimate complaints are just Babies who take things too far to feed their ego and warrant the fuels or thrills of flaming at bigger entities aka, Companies/Corporations. David and Goliath 101.
