GameWithdrawal- Ryse: Son of Rome is not the game we were expecting. Crytek dropped Kinect, but did they add anything to make it special?
The combat looked very shallow and way too reliant on QTE for every enemy encounter
The presentation is what you dreamed about of the next gen. It'd be an epic movie. Though, the amount of enjoyment you get out of it as a game, depends on how much interactivity you seek
Exactly. I enjoyed the presentation, but the combat for what we should expect seemed somewhat lackluster.
If it plays like an interactive movie somewhat I can forgive some of the gameplay QTE, but we need to see more.
The first few moments of the demo, I was thinking 'This looks awesome'... Then the combat started. Still looks cool, but something I'd likely pick up as a rental... Err, I mean pick up used from eBay. Ah.. I mean if it ever gets released on a budget label. :(
So I guess you cant stand any of the God Of War games either. God Of War has similar combat and millions love that game.
so ms show really good demo and people just want to hate? With not even playing the dame game ;/ Also on gt the developer said they where finishing moves ;/
The problem is that it was only a good demo. Good isn't good enough anymore. An on the rails and constricted, scripted experience isn't enough. Every time that demo is played, it will look exactly the same. No freedom, no emergent gameplay.
SO you don't like heavy rain? The game can be on rails or open world for me has long has i enjoy it it don't matter.
It is ironic that Ryse looks as constricted and scripted as the Xbox's used game policy.
What? People aren't allowed to state their opinion? Oh god forbid they diss a Microsoft game and they are labelled Sony fanboys. Truth is, the game has lots of potential, but the QTE really turned me off. I hope the combat is more interactive.
It was not a really good demo. It was just okay.
my only complaint with ryse was that while gameplay looked ok i would most defy try this game but for a crytek game and big crytek fan the graphics didn't look like normal crytek games and the fact that this is an exclusive no hate here but you have to admit it not looking very next gen but that's only graphics i will keep it on my rader
The QTE was excessive but I liked the gritty look and (probably)feel of the game.
The QTE is probably optional, PS4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With all those button prompts on screen, I thought David Cage had joined Crytek
This game looks incredible everyone stop crying damnit.
it was dope. Def next gen title
