The entire Metal Gear storyline is easily the best in videogame history and would stand strong in any other medium too.

1. Metal Gear series
2. Nier
3. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
4. BioShock: Infinite
5. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3

I love these games not only because of their great storylines, but also because of great characters and unique themes used in the stories.

Bioshock Infinite's story didn't really appeal to me. The rest of your list though I thoroughly enjoyed.

My personal favourite storys would be:

Silent Hill series 1-4.
Resident Evil 1,2,3 and Code Veronica.
Final Fantasy VII-IX.
Metal Gear series.
Legacy Of Kain series.

Metal Gear Solid 3
KOTOR
The Last of Us
Bioshock
Chrono Trigger

Yeah, KOTOR should definitely be on the list. I'd have the Longest Journey on mine as well.

Also, I'd just like to say that it's refreshing to see Dark Souls make a list. Not many people know it's story because of it's obvious difficulty and the way in which it is told, but when I started paying attention I was instantly hooked.

Enslaved, original Bioshock, inFamous and Resistance are missing from that list.

mortal kombat has an extremely rich story.

RBlue_Desire3971d ago

Metal Gear Saga.
The Witcher
Dragon Age.
Nier
Final Fantasy VI, VII.
Cheesyness of NFS MW, and DMC.

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
