The review in itself is pretty weak.. And I mean that objectively because I follow gamespot as my main site, and this is their weakest review in quite some while. And those problems they describe seems pretty insignificant compared to the 8/10 score they gave the game.

All I'm saying is that I find it weird those "faults" they described in their review and the lack of sympathetic supporting characters equals a 8/10. It's down to a matter of opinion of course but from experience it's bizarre that gamespot gave the grade they did based on the reviews content.

8/10 is considered "Great", and it might fit the game very well for all I know. But I find the synergy between the grade and reasoning weird.. That's all :)

I disagree with the final scores on a lot of GS reviews. Skyward Sword for example. I do enjoy listening to what they have to say. I take the scores with a pinch of salt and kind of seen an 8 coming.

Giving this masterpiece 8 then give a game like I am alive and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West the same scores means he see them in the same level which is completely untrue. He consider it the same then that's his opinion but in reality it's much better in story / gameplay / MP ..etc So it should get better score and then he say his opinion or he should have focused on the same level of criticism on the other two games and that would be a disaster to these two games.

why is harsh criticism bad. Its better than IGN handing out 10's to every other game. Its part of why people see 7.5 and think "it suckssss" That used to stand for a good game, and 10's came out once every few years. Now if its hyped enough, it gets a 10.

His scores are actually fairly reasonable. Uncharted 3 got a 9, super mario galaxy a 10, lots of 9's. I don't see why you hate him because he gave a game that you haven't played yet an 8.

Because this is a game of the 9+ realm. And people who don't want to see that, are simply fooling themselves. It's the Ocarina of Time of this generation. How can you give a game that excels at every aspect an 8? I mean:
- One of the best (if not the best) graphics of current gen consoles.
- Awesome and deep story.
- Excellent character development.
- Superb audio. Professional voice performance.
- Ambience that totally immerses you in the game.
- Brilliant animations.
- Awesome combat system.
- And the list goes on and on and on...

Why people care so much about rating anyway? Review are just opinion which may or may not comply with your own interest. An 8 is still a good score, it is up to u to make your own decision by taking what applies to u from these reviews.

A score like this just show how bias and bipolar gamers are on n4g (ex: ign , edge suddenly becomes credible when they were criticized by many N4g gamers to no end before for giving out low score on games that gamers like). Or reviewed are paid because they are giving out high score for game that gamers don't like ( most often associate with game on another platform that they don't support).

There is nothing wrong with 8, even if they gave this game a received 5/10, I know it is a spectacular game because I researched it and I played the demo. So everyone this game to me is 9.9 out of ten.
