Some Russian hacker, unilaterally deciding that PC gamers have the inalienable right to play the 2011 Xbox 360 game The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile (pictured), just up and ported the thing, saying "This is not piracy, this is restoration of justice."
Hardcore Gamer: They brought multiple games to XBLA, some of which went on to become cult classics. These were Charlie Murder and The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile. Each title features hand-drawn, punk-inspired visuals and are tremendously gory.
Ethan Lee from the flibitijibibo Patreon page writes:
"Today I’m (in)formally announcing that I’ve been working on Steam versions of Ska Studios’ Charlie Murder and The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile! The Steam versions will be available for Linux, macOS and Windows on day 1, and will include all the features of the Xbox 360 versions including online multiplayer, achievements and leaderboards. They will also be the debut titles for FNA.Steamworks, a new reimplementation of the XNA4 Xbox Live features for FNA (which all versions of the game will be using)."
Console Monster writes: "Today I had the opportunity to sit down with James Silva and Michelle Juett Silva, the folks behind the Dishwasher and Charlie Murder games. They took a bit of time to answer some questions about their latest title 'Salt and Sanctuary' and give some insight on the development process over at SkaStudios."
Good, now when the xbox one releases with drm, you guys do your thing!.
Those scam artist companies need to be taught a lesson about being too greedy
I don't think you get much street cred when your game of choice for porting was "The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile"
hahaha that's hilarious he has a point they cant complain about piracy ruining their game sales when it was never released on that platform hahaha :P but if it was this easy to do i think more games will be done soon with other hackers trying to out do this
Gotta admire the resolve to prove a point even if it is technically wrong.
If this hacker made a program that would let you port your games off a Xbox 360 on to your PC I honestly would be all for it assuming its allowing you to bring over the games YOU bought and not just go in and steal anything. To me this seems like a 'back up your games' method that doesn't have a down side...again if its just letting you port what you own.
