The Last Of Us’ Multiplayer Modes Played And Tested | TheSixthaxiS

While most of the emphasis on The Last Of Us has so far been squarely aimed at the game’s single player, the game does come with a multiplayer section – and we’ve been dipping in and out of it for the last few days in-between bouts of the main story mode. Multiplayer is called ‘Factions’ and is split into two game types, which we’ll come back to shortly.

Sounds good, although I wish they didn't add all the tweaks and loadouts, I just feel it doesn't suit this type of game. It should of been like Uncharted 2 where you get crappy weapons to start off with but if you look for them you can find better ones.

when you play modes with limited lives or single lives then having to scrounge for weapons would detract a lot from the game. On the other hand, having a loadout at least gives you a proper fighting chance without diminishing the critical feel of the mode as the limited lives are still there.

true, but having set weapons and only one life is a lot less frustrating than running around with a crappy pistol looking for a new weapon only to lose your only life because a you get swarmed or a guy with a sniper rifle offs you unceremoniously. I guess there are positives and negatives to both.

EXACTLY! people who like the power weapon pick ups design just like it because it gives whomever gets the good weapons first a HUGE advantage over everyone else and the game goes from whatever the devs had in mind to everyone scrambling for better weapons.

The entire match becomes a struggle for the power weapon spawn points and the obj goes right out the window.

Just let everyone set and use their preferred weapons from the get go and let your shooting skills be the deciding factor in who wins the draw, not because I'm stuck with a crappy weapon and you're not.

Tonester is right, that's my point it's a survival game though, it would add more meaning to scavenge weapons since weapons in the story are hard to come buy, especially ammo.

It's work both ways though, when people have powerfull weapons straight away it's unfair against players who are just starting and have crappy weapons.

Instead of skill it turns into "my weapon is better then yours, and my booster is better then yous, don't forget my other tweaks I have because I'm a high level". In UIncharted 2 it was fairer because you started out with the same weapons and the boosters were crap, they only worked well when you were below level 25-30

I hope the servers are stable enough when its released, ill be busy stuck into the sp but I will try the multiplayer, it sounds pretty awesome

It's hard to wrap my mind on how it works out when I read these articles. I'm curious to see how it plays out because I really don't get how multiplayer works yet.

yea I'm waiting for the proper press release for the MP, mostly confused still, but its amazing this close to launch and we still know so little about the MP, I could care less(SP all the way) and I think its pretty cool to keep it under wraps like this, but its still amazing.

It's almost worrysome about the MP being revealed so close to release date. The SP is all I truly care about, but I'll give the MP a chance after I play the SP.

Yeah, same here. I want a dev video explaining how multiplayer works. My mind is imagining something great. I dont want set myself up for disappointment.

ND had people worried with the MP for Uncharted 2, but it turned out so good, this time they are waiting for the last minute but I have some faith in them that it will be good. A bit worried they didn't have a beta for it (at least not a public one) and it might get some problems at launch.

Hmm after reading this article it actually disappointed just a little bit, if it has snipers then you'll see campers that only care about their kill ratio than by helping the team.
But the sp has me excited so ill give it a try, I was thinking more of a survival experience with no boosters with teams looting for supplies among hordes of infected.
Ill wait for the official unveiling by ND and test it myself before I say I like it or not.
