I think it's because the author who wrote the article decided to take out the software side of things and primarily focus of the hardware aspect. So yeah, he definitely did a good job on staying on track and keeping his personal bias to a minimal.

it was a good read, the author made good points on all 3 consoles. If at this point I didn't already have a console, after reading this article I still would have bought a PS3.

When choosing a console, the hardware is the least important of factors when you compare the available games. That is what sells consoles. How many would have bought a 360 if Halo was on the PlayStation? How many would have bought a PS3 if Metal Gear and Final Fantasy was another platform? And how many would buy either of them if every single exclusive franchise associated with the three platforms was on another unique console - we'd all buy that and give the finger to Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft because we want Mario, Master Chief and Snake all on one console!

So it gives the notion that this author was just trying to walk a thin line and to be honest, the article isn't that impressive.

But I agree with your point about software - that is what matters more than anything (at least in the battle between the PS3 and the XBOX 360). I think the best selling Wii game is the bowling game - and that about sums up what the Wii is all about.

i choose PS3 cause of the vast amount of features, future prospects like Home and the cool games from Sony's studios and excellent reliability

i doubt there are many hardcore players who are sole Wii owners though- even the most hardcore Nintendo fanboys have probably realised that you need a 360 or PS3 to be a gamer worth your salt

that's not to say the Wii is bad- it's great, just not future-proof or very engaging

i have two freinds who own only wii's (and ps2, gamecube) and they are pretty active gamers, but mainly they play games that dont require the wiimote as much SSB, Galexy, etc.

But something tells me they are envious of the other systems.
