Thanks! Now will someone buy me one ;)

Hatsune-Miku3980d ago (Edited 3980d ago )

i cant wait to buy a 4k teli and i cant wait to see the games sony will have in 4k resolution. ive read that sony doesnt have any big plans on making games for 4k resolution but i know they will. its a good thing the ps4 is capable of 1.84teraflops and not 1.2 teraflops because any next gen system with that power is a flop and reserved for cable boxes.

i remember just a few months ago getting a lot of disagrees and abuse for saying ps4 will support 4k and how 4k will be the new thing soon because prices will go down a lot. now i see 4k monitors on sale for 1500quid and sony 4k telis for 4000quids. a lot of haters were going on and on about how 4k telis are 25000pounds and itll never get to a mass market consumer friendly price until another 5 years lol. a lot of these haters knew their weak system of choice wouldnt support the resolution much so theyll rather hate. hopefully the haters will enjoy their cable boxes

anyway, i cant wait to own one of these 4k telis and play games and watch movies at this resolution.

Mr Tretton3979d ago

Hatsune-Miku, keep dreaming. The PS4 is like an outdated laptop. It will never be 4k. High PCs today can't do 4k. BF4 on PS4 is 720p.

I'd argue that even the next gen after that won't be 4k ready for games, only movies. 4k is a pipe dream for games.

aliengmr3979d ago

@Hatsune-Miku

So you were that crazy person.

Listen, I got nothing against Sony, I think it has the edge in the next gen consoles. I'm a PC guy myself.

But 4k is quite a ways off for games. Movies and TV, sure, but it takes quite the PC to pull off true 4k so very few are even going to be able to use it for a few years.

PS4 is not going to be able to do it. But that has nothing to do with the power of the PS4, but gaming itself just being there yet.

Conzul3979d ago

For the most part, PS4 Games won't be 4K.
However, I DO expect several PSN titles will be. For instance, There could be a 4K Journey or similarly-styled games in 4K.

But FHD is enough - trust me, I'd rather have stronger AA and better Anisotropic filtering.

nveenio3979d ago

Haha. You're funny.

Better?

Razputin3978d ago

If you sincerely believe the PS4 will be capable of doing 4k on anything besides movie, you are a fool.

This is just a smoke screen of BS to make you happy.

All those Teraflops, and GBs, and numbers you speak is nothing but that numbers.

Let me tell you something how 1080P was available in the 90's but no one bought into it, only like 3 sports channels actually broadcasted it.

Early 2000's Flat Panel LCD monitors were available more to the public, not many got into it.

Mid 2000's is when HDTVs were being pushed out more, with the inclusion of Plasmas and LCDs and then later LED/OLEDs.

Late 2000's 3DTVs, with not many products offering 3D unless you bought a 3D Blu-Ray player.

Now OOOOOHHHH 4k RES. Another BS campaign to make idiots have wet dreams.

PCs aren't even ready for 4K res unless you have a serious workstation and do heavy rendering.

Seriously don't get too happy. Also I could careless about these so called "Next Gen" consoles, but they won't push anything above 720p to 1080p on some games. You just watch. And still not look as good as current gen PCs.

Hell my PC has hardware from 2009, and I run every game at max at 1080p RES.

LoL... Wow wonder how much is this baby going to be?

I need two.. Dual screens here

PurpHerbison3979d ago

Enough for me to happily wait a couple years for the price to be reasonable.

kneon3979d ago

If it really is "Professional Grade" then it would be cheaper to buy one of the Sony 55" 4K TVs.

3-4-53979d ago

We are 6-10 years away from this even being in enough houses to take advantage of.

There has to be enough of an install base, along with people actually developing to utilize 4k.

It's just not worth it at this moment in time.

ChozenWoan3979d ago

And who needs more than 64mb of ram.... lol

Retroman3979d ago

seen first 55in 4k tv commercial today beautiful colors.

ATi_Elite3978d ago

already gaming at 1600p but YES I would like to Game at TRUE 4K resolution......

But NO I'm Not paying $1000+ for a 4K monitor.

Good thing that 4K monitors are here cause maybe then 1600p monitors will drop in price so I can get two more.

OR BETTER YET.....We can put a Man on the Moon but I can't get an AFFORDABLE NO BEZEL monitor. I rather have 3 NO Bezel Monitors instead of a 4K monitor.

The_Troll_Whisperer3980d ago (Edited 3980d ago )

With this, One display is better than 4(no pun is intended)

iGAM3R-VIII3980d ago

if no pun intended then why is the 'One' capitalised....

*sigh* you are gonna start a scrap

ltachiUchiha3980d ago

No thank u, too expensive for me.

aquamala3980d ago

"There is no word on pricing"

ltachiUchiha3979d ago

Does it sound cheap? You guys make it seem like it will be on sale lol. Its going to cost, trust me.

Pro Racer3979d ago (Edited 3979d ago )

Engadget says it's $3,799 (32") - it's not cheap, but it is pretty affordable compared to other 4K displays. Not to mention the beast of a PC you'll need to run games at native res on this thing.

http://www.engadget.com/201...

Gamesgbkiller3979d ago

I don't have a decent PC for this .... DAMN.

LeRise3979d ago

No thanks, I'm perfectly fine with 1080p monitor.

4K is very good for TVs, because you can have 3D games with passive 3D and true 1920x1080 resolution. If you have 1080p passive 3D TV you see just a half of vertical resolution and that really matters.

Fallout 4's 'next gen' update is over 14 gigs, breaks modded saves, & doesn't change much at all

We were expecting problems with mod support, but there are a lot of other issues.

isarai7h ago

Wow what the actual hell 🤣🤣🤣

just_looken6h ago

This is why you get the GOG version on gog you can select the version of the game to download.

On pc fallout 4 fallout new vegas and skyrim are all broken on steam because they all got the same "next gen" update.

Skyrim dec 2023
https://www.pcgamer.com/sky...

Can not find new vegas but anyone that modded it knows the script extender there was also broken

Valkyrye5h ago

Not accidental, they want modders to stop modding their older games to force them to mod Shitfield.

just_looken3h ago

There doing the same on starfield with a mods store and blocking mods

There goal is like blizzard and what they did with fallout 76 you make mods they can sell and you become a slave.

On skyrim they have "trusted" mod devs now basically a badge that lets your mod on the store you get a crumb of the sale when someone buys it.

Inverno1h ago

lol to the disagrees, the last Skyrim update broke mods too. They've been trying to kill mods to monetize them in creation club for years, it's not a stretch that they purposely put out patches just to break free mods.

porkChop22m ago

The disagrees are from people who have common sense. They aren't trying to kill mods. Most mods for any game will break with a new update because they rely on files/code that have been changed. This isn't new. Even with Bethesda this would happen way before the creation club. Mod support is literally one of the things that got Bethesda to where they are, and they're one of the only devs that releases comprehensive mod tools for each of their games.

Chocoburger1h ago

Over 14 GBs and doesn't change much at all? What? Taking up that much drive space for a pathetic 'remastering' is shameful.

Par for Bethesda.

Aussiesummer10m ago

It's not a remaster, it's a next gen update.

Hopefully Microsoft will go back to the original story line and get away from that woke nonsense from the last Gears game Gears of Woke! But were talking about Microsoft so all the betting money is on more of the same woke nonsense.
