Sekai Project has announced an ambitious Kickstarter project to bring all three games of the Grisaia Trilogy to the West.
Wow, I never thought that they would try and bring the whole trilogy over. Hopefully with the anime airing now to raise awareness they will be able to bring all three of them over. Glad to see that they are also going to aim for the mature versions as well rather than just the all-ages ones.
Didn't they already say they were going to release Grisaia no Kajitsu? Why is it on Kickstarter now?
Seems like the reason Grisaia no Kajitsu is on Kickstarter is so that they can purchase the rights to use the original Japanese voice track as it was not included in their licensing of the game.
Same thing happened to a few other visual novels in the past. For example MangaGamer released Koihime Musou without any voice work and when it reached a certain sale point, they were able to buy the rights and add them into the game through a free patch.
Ah, that explains it. I knew most of the money would go into licensing, but didn't know they didn't have the rights for the first game yet.

It's not really a game, it's kind of like a digital book with pictures that tells you a story which you can sometimes heavily influence by choices.
To tell the truth, this is not really that far from the "movie like experiences" we get in some of the games these days. (Cinematic take downs, cutscenes after cutscenes and quick time events.)
How long will it take me to learn whatever language that is so that I'll know what I'm doing the 30 minutes it takes me to get the platinum?
Mine was Sly 4. Platinumed it on PS3. Fired up my PS Vita version and BOOM instaPlatinum ^_^

the actual plat time is 15~20hours
Coming to Vita, but sure as heck not America. I wish we could get more games like this. A lot of these types of games actually have very well written dialogue/story.
