John Bedford (Modojo): We've had very few space-based mobile games to get excited about since we exhausted the content of the Galaxy on Fire games, but with the release of Star Command last month, and the promise of a tablet FTL: Faster Than Light at some point in the future, the genre's becoming ripe for the picking. Next up is Starship Battles, a strategic arcade shooter that puts you in charge of an assault ship that has to see off an endless wave of enemy invaders.

Pocket Gamer: Starship Battles is a bit of a strange one. It holds itself like a strategy title, but it plays like a simplified arcade blaster. It imitates scope, but when you get down to the bones of the experience it's pretty shallow.
Starship Battles is a solid little game that will remind you of the days you spent in the arcade pumping quarters into the Missile Command machine. It is proof that some of the oldest gameplay styles still holds up today and that is always a good time.
