Nintendo World Report review of My Horse and Me DS

NWR's Les Thomas writes:
"When it comes down to it, this game's presentation is creepy. The static, text-based interactions with your horse instructor and the shop owner feature truly bizarre character depictions. The characters are rendered in an eerily realistic style, photographic almost. I wouldn't let my daughter around these weirdoes.

The simplistic design and superficial gameplay are sure to turn off everyone, including the young girl target group, and especially horse owners. The limited touch screen controls and shoddy conventional controls only make things worse. My Horse & Me is, in a word, plop."

WorthPlaying Review: My Horse and Me

WP writes: "If there were ever a game that I might be a little ill-equipped to review based on the knowledge of the subject matter, I suppose that it would be this title, My Horse and Me on the Nintendo Wii. I've been on an actual horse twice in my entire life, once when I was six, and another time when I was 13 during a vacation. A couple of things have always stuck with me from both instances, one being that horses are a heck of a lot bigger than you think when you see them on TV and in movies, and they're also just a tad bit intimidating as well."

IGN: My Horse and Me Review

IGN writes: "Sometimes we wonder how many little girls open up their birthday presents and find a horse themed video game in lieu of an actual equine. Based on the sheer number of horse games in the past couple years it seems like it'd be the country's leading cause of disappointed little girls. But with My Horse and Me for the Nintendo Wii, W!Games may have created a game that will actually destroy anyone's desire to ever own a horse.

Instead of the American heartland farm setting of many horse games, My Horse and Me puts the player in the role of a professional show jumper. Players compete in events in scenic New England (or maybe European) areas."

I like when reading the review that they don't look at it like the game is a horse game, and that they look at the controls (which are horrid). Customization would also be something I'd want if I had a horse lol.

My Horse and Me: Nintendo World Report Review

Nintendo World Report writes:
"My Horse & Me is shovel-ware, pure and simple. It looks ugly, its gameplay is limited, and its primary features-show jumping and item-collecting-bear little resemblance to its target audience. Including more than one equestrian sport could have made this game passable, but simulating the experience of owning a horse would have been far more appropriate."
