This upcoming Saturday, June 1, 2013 Breath of Fire fan group "We Desire Breath of Fire" will march on with its campaign with a seventh mass-social media posting to renew interest in the Breath of Fire series and show Capcom that fans would love to see a sequel to the resting IP.
The SNES was an absolute unit when it came to releasing great RPGs. But not all the SNES RPGs got the same attention as Final Fantasy titles or Chrono Trigger, though. Here are a few unsung RPGs for the Super NES.
loved loved loved Secret of Evermore. still remember the tv spot from when i was a kid - creeps me out till this day.
Let me throw in a game that goes far under the radar for JRPGs on SNES:
E.V.O. Search for Eden
This epic game from Enix is like taking Feeding Frenzy and adding in evolution! You start as a prehistoric tadpole and use XP to evolve or devolve as needed to tackle this crazy unique RPG. It’s really hard to explain. Highly recommended and I would love to see a remake.
Terranigma is one of my favorite games of all time. Damn near a crime that it never got a Western release. Amazing game.
Take a look at some PS1 game prices that have really taken off over the past 2 years. Some are trending much higher, but a few have dipped recently and it might be your last shot to get them into your collection affordably.
From Xfire: "There seems to be some sort of JRPG renaissance going on these past few years.
In addition to new entries of long-running franchises being released on multiple platforms and new IPs being introduced, some classic JRPG games are getting the love that they rightfully deserve in the form of a remake.
Case in point, Legend of Mana, and of course, who can forget the Final Fantasy 7 Remake?
But while there's a growing number of classic JRPG titles that are being remade for modern audiences, there are still far more that aren't getting enough attention and are in desperate need of a modern remake in 2021 and beyond."
Wild Arms, Xenogears, Xenosaga trilogy, Arc the Lad, Alundra, Golden Axe Warrior, FF Crisis Core, Ar Tonelico, Rouge Galaxy.
First I would like to have the originals easily available again. Than the remakes, that way it's assured that the classic version is still "gettable" in case de remake sucks or take unwanted liberties.
Count me in! Love BoF!
I own some of the games and I have yet finished any of them. I like BOF4 for its animations.
Given that there's some legal issues over Megaman, Capacom lost certain rights, then couldn't the same apply here?
I think for Capcom, the new Breath of Fire is Dragons Dogma
:(
I'm gonna bombard them 1st of June, every movement who try to bring back old school classic JRPGs have my utmost support, appreciation & respect! so BoF fans all over the world do w/e u can 1st of June to show at CAPCOM that this forgotten jewel have still fans out there! let them know how u feel about the series in general & for them who decide to let the series die in obscurity.
