Steam's early access program has been running for a few months now and has given us some real hits. Games like Kerbal Space Programme and Arma III have gotten a lot of attention long before their slated release; something that's certain to boost their sales when that full release swings round. But YouTube crazes and big franchises aside, there are still some hidden gems in the early access area of Steam. Gear Up is one of those potential hidden gems.
Gear up game review with screenshots and videos. A look at the vehicle based arcade shooter from Doctor Entertainment.
Vgamerz writes: "Back in the day, free to play games meant crappy little flash games, titles launched when your grandfather was a child or, in very few cases, games that were so bad that nobody would’ve paid anything to play them anyway. But times have changed now and more and more indie developers – or even AAA studios – are giving us bits of high quality products to try and play for free."
A. Vernan writes, "Gear Up is a simple; free to play, third person, car driving shooter. The game can be downloaded through the steam market and is open to all computer platforms. You play as a car, with a turret on top ready to gun down opposing turret cars in free for all matches."
This game needs a lot of work before its potential will be achieved. There's some progress in development, but so far the inner workings of the game were too unreliable to get into, certainly at a price.
