'Historic' Rare franchise for Xbox One to appear at E3, Microsoft says

Microsoft is promising 15 Xbox One games from its stable of first-party studios in the first 12 months, a mix of brand-new IP — like Remedy's Quantum Break — and established franchises — Forza Motorsport 5 from Turn 10 Studios, for example. One of those Xbox One titles, destined for E3 2013, will please fans of veteran developer Rare Ltd., Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer told Polygon.

Well, that's good news. I've been wanting to see them back on the xbox for the longest time.

Now...about those internet connection requirements.

Snookies122884d ago (Edited 2884d ago )

My only concern is that most of Rare's talent has already left... Whatever it is, I hope they do it justice.

Rusty5152884d ago

Same here. But if it's Conkers Bad Fur Day 2 I MIGHT actually consider purchasing an Xbox1. And that's saying a lot considering how bad they fucked up today

gamer422884d ago

I find that odd, why make an ACTUAL rare game after the real talent of rare left. They should've done it when they had the chance.

dedicatedtogamers2884d ago

At this point, there is no game announcement that will make me buy an Xbox One (and anyone can feel free to screencap or bookmark this, because I'll hold the same stance if PS4 does it) because of the strict rules on owning your games.

Games are tied to your account. You don't own them. No used games (unless you pay the fee or "trade" using Microsoft's online store TBA). Mandatory installs. Mandatory internet check-up every 24 hours. No renting or borrowing games (unless you pay the fee). No backwards compatibility.

Sorry. Not for me.

Based on your comments your mind was already made up before we knew anything LOL Actually 90% of the drama over Xbox One fits in that boat.

BlueTemplar2884d ago

@Greenpowerz and yours wasnt??? Their new console could have been revealed to be a piece of cheese on toast and you'd be singing its praises

Well hopefully to them historic is killer instinct, perfect dark or banjo and not viva piñata and kinect sports...

INB4 trolls talk about how Rare is dead or how it'll be a Kinect game.

Root2884d ago

They won't've already said it

-GametimeUK-2884d ago

It could end up a very fine game whatever it is for all we know. I don't have the highest hopes of Rare producing an amazing title (well not as much as I used to), but I will not judge the game until I have seen and or played it. I'm excited to see a classic brought back.

pr0t0typeknuckles2884d ago

dude with all of the past BS could you really blame them, knowing rare of today and that banjoe kazooie, and perfect dark games as an example the game may lose its soul anyway.

Jek_Porkins2884d ago

Past BS? I bought Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, Viva Pinata 1 and 2 and Kinect Sports, I enjoyed all of these games very much, I also bought the HD versions of Banjo 1 and 2 off XBL, so I think I might have enjoyed those games more than a lot of others that came out.

Anyway, I guess we will see at E3, I'm stoked though!

yugovega2884d ago

grabbed by the ghoulies 2 because you know Microsoft won't give gamers a true game.

darthv722884d ago

for great reference to such an under rated game.

M-M2884d ago

If it's a true sequel Banjo Tooie, they'd better not screw it up.
