Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg has hit back at critics that claim the Call of Duty series is past its peak.
At a special event that revealed the next game in the series – Call of Duty Ghosts – Hirshberg praised the franchises’ development teams, describing the process of building a new Call of Duty “the hardest creative assignment of them all.”
A variety of new updates are available this month across the gaming platforms. Coming today, Retro Classics games are available to play for Xbox Game Pass members. Players who stream on the Xbox app on PC now have an additional streaming option with GeForce Now. Game Bar introduces quick settings, visual updates for Widgets in Compact Mode, and coming soon, Microsoft Edge Game Assist, an in-game browser that brings an immersive game-centric experience to Edge. And Xbox gift cards can now be redeemed for any amount via Xbox Rewards.
While i appreciate the gesture.... all of these retro classics have been made available everywhere else. I am hoping to see some other Activision properties make their way out of the shackles of the 5th, 6th and 7th gen. Licensing be damned... bring back the Transformers Cybertron games.
Metaphor on Gamepass just announced! O.o
Seriously, this is the best generation of Xbox ever!!!
We can´t catch a freaking break from awesome games arriving all the time!!!
According to a developer working on the title, Activision is working on a narrative-based open-world game based on a new engine through its new studio.
It was recently revealed in an exclusive episode of the 'Grit' podcast that EA once passed up acquiring Blizzard, Activision, and Call of Duty.
Only a big company that has interest in gaming like Microsoft or Tencent could have acquired Activision. Extremely low interest rates at that time certainly helped.
Not exactly sure that a merger with EA would’ve benefited any of their franchises or gamers. I imagine it would’ve been like the activision blizzard one were each publisher retains their own identity. So Activison-Blizzard-EA. But who knows.
If it was owned by EA, COD could’ve disappeared a looong time ago. They have no clue how to manage franchises.
No shit. People who say that just wants it to fail. But its not going no where anytime soon. Only way it will if the next one after this is called Call of duty : Hello Kitty Land
Call of Duty: Ghost 2.
Now theres 2 Dogs and exclusive DLC to customize your dog thats are mocapped and mapped by a group of the worlds best CGI designers!
Did Microsoft forget to mention Call of Duty Ghost now has a reality show series that can be displayed onto your TV! Because that is the #1 priority for gamers, games turned into TV shows.
Not from a sales standpoint, but it's not something people look at and say "WOW" when a new one is announced. Call of Duty has some dedicated fans, so power to them.
I think I'll stick to renting my copies, however.
Meh, it's like every year when they announce a new sports title. The developers are all like "check this shit! fuckin HOLY SHIT we've gone above and beyond" and it's pretty much the same. I don't care as long as other companies keep putting out games like Dark Souls or Last of Us
Hanna-Barbara: Cartoons are not in decline.
Apple: iPods not in decline.

The Cleveland Show: We're not cancelled.
