Games inspire many other games and whose to say anything against it? The team (team is loosely used as it is one man and a composer) at AAD Productions are making Frontiers and they took much from Daggerfall in The Elder Scrolls franchise and aims to provide a simplistic approach to frontier survival with a twist of a first person perspective and role playing game. To be honest this reminds me much of Elder Scrolls, but also of the recent game Don’t Starve where you’re thrown into the open and forced to hunt and gather resources in order to survive. From the looks of the recent trailer for you’ll be doing just that and so much more. In Frontiers you’ll even have to assemble your fireplace to cook your own food.
Serena Nelson writes: "Two years ago first-person RPG Frontiers ran on Kickstarter and managed to blow past its initial funding goal of $50,000 three times over. However, development of the game has taken a lot longer than developer Lars Simkins originally estimated and in a recent update he mentioned why. Apparently, he's the only person still working on the game, but he's not down and out yet."
Hardcore Gamer: It’s been a hot second since Lars Simkins let us know how Frontiers was coming along. Two months, to be exact, and backers of the incredibly ambitious and equally promising project have been foaming at the mouth for information. Yesterday, he finally broke his since.
Lars Simkins and AAD Productions have announced their upcoming game, Frontiers, will miss its release date and will now be available “when it’s done."
