The New Senran Kagura Game is Full of Fan Service (And Fun to Play) [Kotaku]

Kotaku:

When I picked up Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus: The Girls' Proof for my Vita, I was filled with existential dread.

I knew very little about the game itself going in, but after watching the anime based on this game series in preparation for my playthrough, I was more than a little worried. For the most part, sexual fan service in games and anime doesn't bother me. But as the anime was nothing but sexual fan service that gave little regard to plot or anything else, I was certain the game would be similar. And while fan service does indeed permeate every facet of Shinovi Versus, underneath the mountain of fan service, there is a game that's fun to play.

Try not to insult the art designer this time eh Kotaku?

Kalowest4001d ago

It's not coming to the US, so they don't care!!!

blackblades4001d ago

Let me correct you right quick, it is coming via digital release.

Th4Freak4001d ago

@blackblades That's not a fact, Ken Berry said that if they were going to localize it they would release a digital version.

Game is quite lenghty .
And is packed with panties!
oh characters and goodies are in there too.

It's really a fun game with a great story that isn't afraid of making fun of itself and a balanced online fun too.

A great 8.5/10 .
Would be 9/10 if booting didn't take so much time but given how heavy in costumisation the game is it's understandable.

Kalowest4001d ago (Edited 4001d ago )

Did you import it?
And if you did, does the import have eng subs?

knifefight4001d ago

It doesn't have English subs.

If you're wondering how much Japanese you need to know, there's a note about it at the bottom of this import review:

The game is easy to navigate even if you don't know japanese , the menu aren't complex.
But to understand the lenghty story , you'll need above average japanese skills.
If you know the basics, it's not hard as teh game highlight the sengan kagura term in red during the dialogs ( so you can have a description of that an item does or what this name is for )
And the girls talk a lot .Seriously there is a ton of voice work in this game.

Japanese games - Why are they a rarity in Europe?

A lot of people who own a console or PC can´t get the thoughts of Japanese games out of their heads. And who can blame them? As we miss out on a lot of games. And Especially those of lewd nature. So these are my (Norman, TGG) thoughts on the matter.

Simon_the_sorcerer2802d ago

Well, as for the West...Both "Criminal Girls 2" and "Valkyrie Drive" got banned in Germany and Australia...

TGG_overlord2802d ago

I feel really sorry for the gamers that live in Australia and Germany :S

Littil_Devil2802d ago (Edited 2802d ago )

It´s not much better in South Korea either, as the whole country has gone full SJW mode.

Simon_the_sorcerer2801d ago

Yes...But I´m somewhat worried that this SJW cancer will spread all over the Western civilization. In other words, that the West will become like Germany -_-

Littil_Devil2802d ago

Now that I think about it, it would be really interesting to know how much German and Australian gamers spend on game imports? Furthermore, how many games they import per year? Quite a lot I bet.

TGG_overlord2802d ago

Hmm, good question. That might actually be worth looking into.

Darkwatchman2802d ago

Isn't the upcoming MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death also banned in Australia

TGG_overlord2801d ago

I think that´s correct, as "Criminal Girls 2" and "Valkyrie Drive" won´t be released there.

Littil_Devil2802d ago

That would be correct, and that´s also why a lot of games in the West gets either banned or censored on release.

Simon_the_sorcerer2802d ago

Some Australian friends of mine have to import games via New Zealand most of the time to avoid crap like that...

TGG_overlord2802d ago

I think Germany is the worst country in the whole world when it comes to censorship in video games. Hell, they even ban tons of games as well :S

Littil_Devil2802d ago

Didn´t a lot of Australian Gamers go over to New Zealand just so that they could buy GTA5?

@DragonDDark
"Yup. Country SJW rules"

No wonder why more and more people are buying games from Japan instead...
