Flashback, sequel to Another World, was a video-game that originally came out back in 1992; veteran gamers will no doubt remember.
Obviously this is a remake but the new version of Flashback still very much has an old school vibe. The game is a 2D platform adventure that will remind players of a time when this was the standard way to play. It’s nice to see VectorCell haven’t fundamentally tried to change this as it fits the genre so well.
GOG is giving away Flashback as part of their Summer Sale. All you have to do to add Flashback to your collection is go to the GOG website or the game’s page.
Andrew M writes: "Almost three decades after the release of the original, Microids has announced that Flashback 2 will launch for console and PC in 2022."
I have zero faith in the execution after how bad that remake was.
Doesnt need a sequel.
An award-winning action-adventure game, developed by Paul Cuisset in 1992, Flashback holds a Guinness record and is one of the first games to use rotoscope technology for realistic animations. In it, you travel the universe in the year 2142 with amnesia stricken protagonist Conrad while he dives headlong into an insidious alien plot. This game will no doubt prove a time capsule of memories for some and nothing can ruin that. However, for those of you who have never played the original, Flashback Mobile offers a somewhat different experience.
This game was cutting edge on debut. I want to think I may have had this on 3DO, can’t remember. Maybe SegaCD.
Hope this turns out well. I really enjoyed Flashback when it was originally released.
It all sounds way, way too loud and bro-tastic from the trailer. What I loved about those games was the atmosphere, and if every single stage is full of DUN DUN DUN! DUN DUN! music, they've thrown away one of the most distinguishable things about AW and FB...

Veteran gamers will also remember that Flashback (by Paul Cuisset) had nothing to do with Another World (by Eric Chahi).
