A tribute to Chrono Trigger in the shape of coasters

From cosplays to plushies, there are many artful ways to share your love of a game series. Reddit user tipidi‘s wife has shown her love for gaming in the form of a set Chrono Trigger coasters.

The cross-stitched coasters wonderfully recreate the pixelated look of the classic SNES JRPG’s in-game menu protraits of all the seven playable characters. And for all you hopefuls out there who would like to get their hands on some of these highly detailed pieces of art for yourselves, you just might be in luck.

Dude, I would buy the HELL out of those. Put my beers on them, and get all excited like a young school boy when I pick up the can to see their faces underneath... Lol!

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil37d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

I want a full on 3d remake but I suppose HD2D is fine.

Snookies1245d ago

So many people want HD2D, but I agree 100%. Chrono Trigger is in my top 3 of all-time. I want to see what this could be like re-imagined in full 3D. The sprites look good enough in the original, in my opinion. What would be amazing, is if they just went for both haha. Give us the HD2D to tide us over while they work on the full remake.

I'd imagine it would be something like... chrono cross

goken45d ago

I am hoping a modern AAA return…

Chard45d ago (Edited 45d ago )

I'm still skeptical of HD-2D, and still want them to fix remaining foibles in the current Steam version. At any rate I've been seeing online that this rumour has been debunked

Knightofelemia44d ago

I would jump for a remake of Chrono Trigger then hopefully a remake of Chrono Cross. I wish Xenogears and the Xenosaga trilogy also got a remake or a remaster.

jznrpg43d ago

Yes to Xenogears and Xenosaga!

jznrpg44d ago

I am surprised it hasn’t been done already. It’s widely considered as one of the best RPGs all time. I’ll take it for sure. I want a Vagrant Story remake as well
