Nintendo: Our E3 will be all about already announced games, smaller events for America

Nintendo stated in their investors meeting today that their E3 presentation will focus entirely on software that has already been announced. Not only that but they said they will have several smaller events (Likely Nintendo Directs) for the American market going forward

That's a big mistake to only focus on already announced software at E3

They are banking everything on Nintendo directs not Gamer christmas(E3)

I will be very happy if they show off the next 3D Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers at E3.

this stuff is already announced software, but it is the software that people want to see the most.

Is this some kind of joke? The entire spirit of E3 lies around the unknown, the surprising, spur-of-the-moment revelations that shock (or bore) the entire gaming audience.

There's still incentive to watch it live, thanks to a large number of intriguing games already "announced" for the platform (here's hoping for some expansive SSB4 info), but the magic of the whole thing sure took a punch to the gut with this news.

There's always Sony...

Edit: Other sites are reporting that Nintendo is bowing out of E3 completely. I can't even imagine that. I'd take a diminished presentation over none at all any day.

so much for "wait for E3 for the wii u to shine."

the xbox720 and PS4 conferences are going to be crazy. all eyes will be on sony and microsoft. you NEED a conference. you need to put on a show. you need to stand out and compete.

does nintendo realize that this will totally take them out of the next gen conversation, especially this holiday season?
