After all, most of us have grown up with gamepads in our hands and even the transition to motion controls didn’t go too well with some gamers. At the end of the day, the classic gamepad and keyboard/mouse combo continue to be the preferred tool for gaming. Now picture a device that doesn’t replace your current control setup, but instead enhances it by providing more accessibility and flexibility. This is where the whimsically named Stinky foot controller comes into place. It’s a slickly designed foot pedal that can be used to replace up to four buttons/commands to complement the conventional gaming experience.

Presspauseradio at PAX Prime 2013: Kicking Down The Stinky Footboard

"I can admit that I have issues when it comes to playing complex video games. So many of the buttons are a strain to reach and different combinations are at times difficult to execute. This is greatly expanded whenever I need to play something on a PC using a keyboard and mouse. By the time I find out which key allows me to run, or how to change the camera mode I have already been taking out by the opposition. It would be nice if playing the game could be simplified in some way, perhaps with the assistance of a strangely named computer accessory. This is where the Stinky Footboard comes to the rescue."

It's definitely both, but it did actually feel natural and worked well with BF3.

Interview: Stephane Rivard, Stinky Footboard Developer

If you have not heard of the Stinky Footboard, I must say where have you been? The idea of playing your games with your foot has pretty much exploded. The Stinky footboard is in development by Project by SteLuLu Technologies, and has a kickstarter campaign going on to finish production of the device. They are currently a little more than $8,000 shy of their $75,000 goal with 7 days left.
