Games already filling 25GB Blu-Ray discs - Harrison

PS3 development chief makes the case for next-gen discs

Launch titles for the PlayStation 3 are already "getting up close" to the 25GB limit on current Blu-Ray discs, according to Sony's worldwide studios boss Phil Harrison, who was responding to criticism of the PS3's adoption of Blu-Ray.

"Already, at our launch titles, we're getting up close to the 25GB limit that we have on our Blu-Ray discs this year," he claimed. "Next year we'll raise that to 50GB, and I'd expect that we'll be getting close to that in the fairly near future as well."

Can you wait until the game is out before you just label it as "lame programming," whatever that means. It'll be less than a month before reviews are out, and considering how Insomniac has not released any bad games, I'm fairly certain that it will be a great game.

Ok The great 1, i dont know what a looser is, i assume you mean loser. You accomplished nothing in that, so congratulations on that, you pointless person.

I dont believe a word Phil Harrison has said, to me he is the embodiment of evil. He has lied a lot in the past, and i suspect he will continue to do so.

Resistance:FOM programmers are anything but lazy, they are a extremely tallented team that has have loads of hit games under there belt.FWhy can't u face facts that DVD9 is not big enough for Nex Gen games.U Xbots will be playing multi disc games sooner than u think.PS3/Blu-ray go hand in hand.

Look Face the fact both DVD-9 and BLU-RAY has its PRO'S and CON'S.

DVD XBOX360 PRO'S:
-Faster Seek Time than (PS3 BLU-RAY) Per 1GB 1min 2sec

DVD XBOX360 CON'S
-Capacity of Media

PS3 BLU-RAY
-Seek time per 1GB 1min 51sec

You pick one and you loose something, what it will come down to is how the developer make the tools they are working with work for them. Look at the PS2 it had limited memory but it had some incredible games. The Wii almost as powerful as the original XBOX and Zelda looks really good on it. It’s up to the developers to choose what works best for them speed or quantity.

Shaolin Monks is a forgotten gem. I would love to see a new one, or a remake of the old.

That game was actually goated. It was the first time ever that I actually tried to get good at a fighting game. Unfortunately the online connection was so dogshit it made it hard to enjoy and eventually I gave up. Haven't really played much fighting games since.

The Industry Needs To Modernize These 6 Fantastic Classics

The Simpsons: Hit and Run, The Legend of Dragoon, and Chrono Trigger would benefit substantially from a modern remake.

Knightofelemia1d 4h ago (Edited 1d 4h ago )

The Xenosaga trilogy, the Wild Arms games, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, Suikoden. The Warriors game I know nothing about but it looks interesting. Anybody can do a list of games they want to see get modernized I would lose my shit if Namco brought the Xenosaga trilogy to modern consoles.
