Top 10 3rd Party Characters I Would Like to See in Smash Brothers

Andrew N from Negative World writes: "I’m back, and I brought my 3rd party choices with me! Choosing 3rd party characters that I would like to see in Smash Brothers has been both very exciting and nearly impossible. Exciting, because there are so many awesome 3rd party characters on Nintendo platforms to choose from. Impossible, for the very same reason. Although my list is essentially just a list of Andrew favorites, I think that I managed to capture some broader appeal as well.

And don’t forget, like my Top 10 1st Party Characters I Would Like to See in Smash Brothers which preceded this list, I’m going to add in some stage designs for each of my characters as well, because I love you all so very much."

Travis Touchdown just feels like he belongs in Smash Bros.

Commandar_Shepard4445d ago (Edited 4445d ago )

IMO Travis feels like a necessary character to have in the next SSB.

Others I want:

Bayonetta- Feels guaranteed after the exclusitivity of Bayonetta 2

Connor/Any Assassin's Creed Character- This series is one of the only great third party series scheduled to come to Wii U. Plus an AC character would be fun to use.

Batman: Like Assassin's Creed, this is one of the only other great third party franchise still coming to Wii U atm. Plus who wouldn't want to see Batman take on Captain Falcon. :D

Nightmare: Namco is helping with the game, so it feels almost certain.

Kazuya: Same as Nightmare, I would also like Heihachi but I'm not sure if its possible given the fact that he's in PSAS

Megaman: Could still work even though the MML3 travesty took place

I also want to see Snake and Sonic to return. And maybe Namco will add even more characters.

SSB isn't like Marketing All Stars, Snake And Sonic are both almost as famous as Mario, Megaman is the only non Nintendo first party character i see maybe coming to SSB. And batman is famous but not as famous as Snake or Sonic in gaming.

Nightmare? The final boss of Kirby's Adventure? What does that have to do with Namco?

Commandar_Shepard4444d ago

Nightmare from Soul Calibur...

Megaman, Okami

And Alex Roivas with the Tome of Eternal Darkness (magic, conjuring, and illusions).

Mega Man is the only good one on this list in my opinion. Hopefully him and Pac-Man will get in. And I want the ORGINIAL Mega Man, not X. I want Mario Vs. Sonic Vs. Mega Man Vs. Pac-Man, not Mario Vs. Sonic Vs. Mega Man X Vs. Pac-Man

Although, knowing Capcom, if we get any Mega Man it'll be this one:

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev Says Resident Evil 4 Inspired Uncharted and Many More Action Games

Former Naughty Dog dev says Resident Evil 4 inspired Unchartted and even Gears of War, particularly the over-the-shoulder camera view.

CrimsonWing6933d ago

It revolutionized third-person shooters, in a genius way that gives you full control of aiming.

CrimsonWing6932d ago

No, I mean RE4. Like the whole snap to over-shoulder and precision aiming was what I meant.

I won’t deny Winback does pave the way in some respect. But it’s not the same at all.

InUrFoxHole33d ago

Both are great series. That's awesome

Samonuske33d ago

I thought this was common knowledge. Resident Evil Revolutionised over the shoulder aiming in 3rd person shooters/action games

italiangamer33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

Influenced basically every third person action game made after it, GTA uses the over the shoulder perspective when shooting since the 4th installment, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 too and the Batman Arkham series has the over the shoulder perspective as the main camera throughout the whole game series.
Obviously there are a ton more examples but you get the point 🗿.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Levii_9242d ago

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil41d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb41d ago (Edited 41d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
