Digitally Downloaded writes: "People are talking about Nintendo "failing" with the Wii U. These people are wrong. The Wii U and 3DS are both certainly struggling at the moment - I'm really finding it difficult to care about either console and I know I'm not the only one in that position - but I fully expect the floodgates will be opened in the near future and those critics will feel pretty silly about themselves."
If you were a 90s kid excited about Nintendo’s upcoming N64 console, you likely read something somewhere about the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive, also known as the 64DD or DD64.
Other nominees include games like SimCity & Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
There are some good nominees in this list that are deserving to be inducted also, but I feel Metroid has had the most impact on the industry out of all of these. Look how Metroid influenced the evolution of the Castlevania games, and the "Metroidvania" subgenre of games have become a prevailing force in gaming today. Especially now, Metroidvanias are bigger than ever.
I can very much see Resident Evil being added later too, bc it really did popularize and define the survival horror genre. I would say that one is next in line.
If any Metroid game should get the honor it should be Super Metroid , it's perfection in my eyes . 30 years later and I still feel it's the most epic shit ever .
The GBA remake deserves it or Super Metroid, the original was a very sloppy and rushed game programmed in 3 months and it shows.
If you've never played the remake, it's absolutely a must play, fixes basically every flaw in the game. Check out ExoParadigmGamer's comparison video.

3DS is not struggling
My 3DS has been kinda sitting there for a few weeks without charging. I have games to play on it, but I don't pick it up for some reason... I tend to go for my Vita when I'm bored and not on a console/PC the last few weeks. Though I'm a special case, I'll get in certain moods for weeks/months at a time where I do nothing but one thing. (Watch a certain TV show/anime, play a certain type of game, play music, etc.) I know for sure I'll be playing the HELL out of Link to the Past 2 though if nothing else when that comes out!
lol..3ds aint struggeling.
My brother can't stop playing the new Paper Mario.
I love my PS3...my favorite current-gen console. But when it comes to handheld gaming, I like Nintendo the best...3DS rocks and the upcoming lineup looks really good (in addition to what's already out like Fire Emblem, Super Mario Land, etc).
