Wii U Left Out of Another Major Sports Release with FIFA 14

because FIFA is like the rest of the world's Madden.

It would make people in many countries (including the US) think twice about buying a console without a Port version.

Title of the article should read, "No mention of Wii U version". Nothing is confirmed, so for you to label it with such finality only makes you look dumb should it release for the Wii U.

If they were all the same, how do you explain the evolution of graphics, gameplay - even player likenesses, kits and stadiums?

Like you, I wouldn't necessarily buy the new version every year, but as a football fan, every other year is long enough - 5 or 6 years? Come on..! I mean your choice and all, but I simply don't believe you! ;)

So they only mentio 360/PS3/PC... so as professional writers I guess it makes all the sense in the world to assume that means it will come to PS4 and next Xbox and put up a title that says there wont be a WiiU version....

If its true doesn't bother me. I think yearly sports games are pointless and end up wasting up space in used game shops. Stinks for sports fans but I don't see the point in playing a game about a sport when I can go outside and play it for real.

I agree with you that annual sports games are getting tiresome however I completely disagree with your last point. Saying why don't you, just go out and play if for real is kind of ignorant. People play sports games because they love the experience and feel of the game that they get from spectating. They want to re-create that feeling while gaining some control over the game as well. Why do you think an official license is so important to sports games? People are not playing NBA 2k13 to supplement actually going out and ballin, it's complementing the NBA season and the game that they love. Plus not all fan's have that much luck during the season, take my Jags for example, Playing a sports game gives me the opportunity to take control and manage my favorite team to victory even when the actual season isn't going as planned. Lastly not everyone is athletic sports games give those people a chance to play the games they like without total frustration.

The problem I have with this is for years now EA has tried to cram their half assed games on every freakin console they could and even supported the cube until like 08 and ps2 until like a year ago with half-baked sports titles. Now they even have IOS games yet they basically quit their sports support for nintendo when the wii came out delivering rubbish sports titles that hardly took advantage of the wii with the excuse of "it's not powerful enough" despite the fact that they had created gamecube games that looked better. Now they aren't even bothering to develop for Nintendo after coming out on the stage with them at e3 promising heavy support and "innovation" touting all the possibilites for their games. At this point there is no reason games like fifa, madden and NHL, shouldn't be on the Wii U other than EA is still butthurt about Origin.

since fifa is one of the biggest franchises in this zone. i think it could compete with cod if they went head to head on release day.

BUT i think there will be a fifa wiiu game, only one of those 'special' wiiu editions. ie a totally shit version.

i wish i could agree. in the previews, they said the game would have superior graphics, but when the game was actually reviewed, the game was inferior in every way- including graphics.

ea are just lazy, it should and could be better on wiiu, but ea are just lazy.

Well, good riddance. These guys couldn't even get it right the first time on Wii U with FIFA 13, so, just get the game on PS3, 360 or PC.
