I think so. Sony are fighting hard because the stakes have never been as high as this before for them and I think it will payoff.

xHeavYx4454d ago (Edited 4454d ago )

Agree. The good thing is that Sony seems to be doing everything right. Meanwhile the "other people" still worry about always online DRM

iGAM3R-VIII4454d ago

Agreed, and I would think so because at GDC and before, Sony were saying how they were open to ALL developers and based on most of them praising it I guess they are

JsonHenry4454d ago

I was a much bigger fan of the 360 than the PS3 this generation. And even though I don't know a whole lot about the next xbox other than the current rumors and "leaked" specs but the PS4 is looking like it will get most of my money next gen unless the xbox just really isn't anything like what it is rumored to be at this point.

Godmars2904454d ago

So long as that includes 2D sprite developers, a return of the genre to more than PSN levels, I'm = ^__^

3-4-54454d ago

I feel like there is still a healthy market for 2D-sprite games ...16/32 bit RPG's and strategy games at least.

Knightofelemia4454d ago

Allow the games to come decent titles to play and enjoy. I just hope there no stupid shovelware titles coming to the PS4.

Parapraxis4454d ago

PS3 isn't known for "shovelware"
Sure there a few (really not many) move games that could be considered bad, but even most move games are pretty good.

HmongAmerican4454d ago (Edited 4454d ago )

I think SONY is smart enough so that won't happen. They know what games we likes and will delivers on their end. If you want to know which games are better. Just look at the top 10 or the top 5 games people downloaded the most and you can kinda get the idea's of what people play. There even rating so you know which game is good and which is bad. With all that, shovelware title is as good as none existent.

sounds like more live service stuff....

Obscure_Observer41d ago

Definitely.

Looks like they haven´t abandoned their live service plans after all.

Christopher41d ago

"Our first game is a team-based action game that draws inspiration from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life sims, and frog-type games. Players will inhabit a lighthearted, comedic world set in brand-new, mythic, science-fantasy universe. We can’t wait to reveal more."

At least it's not an extraction shooter. It's team-based, so not likely my thing. But perhaps it will at least add something new to the current slew of MP games out there?

YourMommySpoils41d ago

What's the LFG stand for?... Les. Oh, let's not go there.

darthv7241d ago

..well their definition is: The “LFG” in “teamLFG” stands for “Looking For Group.”

staticall41d ago

At least it's not «LandFill Gas»

-Foxtrot41d ago

"industry veterans who have shipped titles like Destiny, Halo, League of Legends, Fortnite, Roblox, and Rec Room"

"and richly social virtual worlds"

"where players can find friendship, community, and belonging"

"We will make immersive multiplayer worlds"

"but throughout live service as we continue to grow the game and community for years to come"

"Our first game is a team-based action game that draws inspiration from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs"

Jesus. Does Sony ever learn? Like if they want to partner with them that's cool and all but buying the studio right off the bat? It's insane thinking after all the money they've just lost from Concord, not to mention the lack of actual hype for Marathon. Who is making the decisions here?

ravens5241d ago

This is their main multiplayer studio now. Hopefully nomore pullin teams like Santa Monica, Bluepoint, Naughty Dog etc into stupid multiplayer endeavors.

P_Bomb41d ago

Yeah, I’m not feelin’ this new project tbh. Another live service?

SonyStyled41d ago

They didn’t buy the studio. They created it

-Foxtrot41d ago

Buying it or not they still had to put a lot of money into it

They could have created a new studio to reboot some older titles or ones inspired by them. A JRPG like Legend of Dragoon, a first person shooter like Resistance or a platformer like Jak and Daxter.

TheColbertinator41d ago

The only way Sony will learn is through pain.

Extermin8or3_41d ago

Thry didn't buy the stufio they created the studio. Big difference.

Can't believe they killed Japan Studio, London Studio, and Pixelopus for this, Destiny, and Concord.

Maybe they'll be able to keep Playstation console prices stable as a result. One can dream.

Outside_ofthe_Box41d ago

I doubt. Only reason PS console prices hasn't change is because Sony stock piled in anticipation of tariffs. 6-12 months at best until they announce their own increases.
